Any suggestions about what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

Mine didn't look half that bad, and they totaled it. Good luck and glad you're ok!

It all depends on whether or not the frame is damaged...

Even if the frame is bent they could still fix it, kinda curious as to what will happen. Sure hope your buddy is ok after that.

If the frame is bent, then it will most likely be totaled.

i got hit twice, someone came out way to fast out of a parking lot hitting my left side, there's some damage to the rear passenger door, and wheel sent the car sideways into the incoming traffic and was hit again. the rear left tire seems a bit off but I'm not sure if I'm just seeing things because of the bed being destroyed

Happy you're ok, OP. Looks like a nasty wreck

As for the truck, totalled or not, I wouldn't want to continue owning it. If it were me, I'd see what insurance says, and either total it or if they want to repair, get it fixed and trade it in.

Gonner, glad you're ok. That's a tough spot to get hit twice on. Let us know.

Only the adjuster gets to decide.
That said, some basic info will help the guesstimaters in this game. I mean, if it's a 2016 with a 120k miles on it, yeah. If it's a 2020 with 12 miles, then no.

I hate to say this, but back in 2012 or so my parents tried to fight for diminished value and it didn't go so well...

My dad was driving his 2008 Acura TL, and a RAV4 made an illegal left turn and clobbered his car on the left rear; The Acura was not totaled, but it had to be towed and it had about $5,000 in damage. There no airbag deployment. The other driver's insurance company paid to fix the Acura, and the body shop did a great job, but trying to get diminished value was a losing battle...

Get a lawyer. And don’t agree nothing yet with insurance. I would hope they would total it and get another.

If they total it then you don’t get diminished value too. I’m guessing that’s totaled if it also extend up in to the cab.
