You are correct, sir! I must have had one too many! If you have the cash and can invest at a higher interest rate than you are borrowing... you make money. I know this intuitively, maybe not drunkenly...

I wouldn't go that far... insurance is definitely more complex. We have life insurance so if either one of us dies, the other can keep the house. It's cheap. Obviously, it we had the cash to own the house outright, we wouldn't need it. But we don't, so it's "peace of mind".

On the other hand, I don't carry "collision" on my used truck, because the cost doesn't make sense.

we used to do that.... we called it dirt road riding, typically happened after midnight, friend put his S10 in a tree going too fast and sliding off a dirt road. We alway rode with 2 vehicles so one was playing recovery. Im not sure how i survived some of the stuff i did.

Fun fact for Friday. The Honda/Ford dealership in town has 1 F-150 Raptor out front. They also have 2 Honda Ridgelines out front. Does that mean at that dealership, the Raptor outsells the Ridgeline 2 to 1?

Maybe? Raptor would be the obvious choice between the 2 for me. i could never bring myself to own a ridgeline.

Stuck at home due to the Coronavirus, so I figured I'd revive this thread just for kicks; I still can't help but wonder what the OP bought with the insurance check...?

So, I just ran the plate through CARFAX and it comes back to a 2020 Tacoma, so apparently the OP did buy another Taco! Don't know why he's not back on TW though...

correct. It happens everyday, people come here for info and/or to hock their crap, never to give any input, follow-up, or return. Oh well, it's the net,, I don't miss em.

Not sure if putting my dads car on a telephone pole guide wire, or taking it through the corn field to out race a buddy was the worst, but chasing folks with the blue light was the funnest. A buddy of mine hasd to tell my son about my sitting on the roof while driving 55. Shit I am going to stop thinking about my younger dumb days.
