Weird. Any friends or family you can take for a drive and see if their phones exhibit the same issue? Maybe other bluetooth music sources such as an ipod nano?

Try to figure out if the problem is with your phone or with your headunit. The behavior isn't normal.

This is my next step. After reading this thread though, it sounds like this is not an isolated incident. I was hoping someone here may have had their head unit replaced under warranty and had the problem solved. =\

I remember reading of an instance or two like that. Doing some testing on your own will help make the case to the Service Adviser.

Good video. He deletes the pairing on each end, talks about resetting the phone, shows how to reset the Entune headunit, then re-pairs them. Good detail on ensuring Show Notifications is turned on.

I suck at speaker installation however this looks pretty straight forward. Did you have to modify any wiring?

I had the same issue for awhile then I read somewhere that if you have two profiles on your Entune then this is a very common issue. Just deleted my wife's profile from it and now everything works like its supposed to.

A few listed in the signature
Not bad, Metra brackets (fronts didn't fit without modification), wiring harnesses, new screws and hardware. Had to also modify the door panel.

If you're not good at it... probably would pass on this one. This is the 5th car I have done so I didn't panic or get too nervous when I ran into some issues.

Awesome, thanks. Will try this tomorrow. Will report back if issue is resolved after deleting wife's profile.

Update for others who may stumble across this thread.

I deleted my wife's phone which was paired to the stereo per a tacomworld users recommendation in this thread and the issue is now resolved.

Big thanks to Boosted_IX for the suggestion.

Ah I thought it was my phone!! I have the same issue! It only started happening after a friend paired their device to my truck too. Well now I know the solution is to only have one device paired! But seriously, Toyota...how could you let entune screw the pooch on this? Did no one think to pair two devices???

I just deleted all other devices from my car, I will have to wait and see if that solves the problem, I will update when I know more. but like @MasterTJ said, How does Toyota miss this kind of stuff? Hope it gets fixed soon

Just tossing in my two cents

I have had this issue a number of times. I find it most commonly happens when the phone is connected to my home wifi and i get in my truck and it connects to bluetooth.
when it looses my home wifi it freaks out..... WITH THAT BEING SAID.

There is a radio firmware/software update for our trucks that i got recently and it solved alot of issues in my system including that occasional reboot cycle it can do.
Also, after you do an update on the iphone to the new OS i would recommend doing a disconnect of the iphone and re-adding it back into the truck as well.

@Caboose117 could you post version numbers from the headunit?

No hurry, just curious. I'm due to go in for 5K svc in the next 3-4 weeks and want to ensure my to-do list is complete. :D

Lol a cab mount chop is a common Tacoma mod to fit bigger tires without rub

It cuts the portion of your frame that houses the cab mounts

Just pump it into YouTube and watch the one by total chaos
