Nice truck! I caved and put the deposit on the taco, realized after thinking about it for awhile that I am never going to need a locker as I do not do serious off-roading. Any of the trails/roads I have been on I never needed it. Hoping to pick it up Mon/Tues after they PDI it and strip the damn factory side steps off it (those things are bolted right to the rocker panels no the frame). Now to strip the accessories from my 2010 Tundra (aka Betty), anyone want a bedslide contractor grade cargo tray.

Now to figure out a name for the new truck and put better tires on the the OEM junk. I already have the OEM ones sold. I'll eventually lift the truck 2-3inches as I just like the way they look look lifted and I want the clearance for some of the rocky roads I go on when exploring on weekends.

    Steve

I'm not so sure that I need one, but if the price is right I would at least like to see in person what they're all about.

Had this conversation with the "Loyalty Center" at my local stealership (Corwin Toyota, Bellevue, NE). Thanks lady... you've been very helpful!

Me: Allyson, Do you have any information on the 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro?

Allyson: What information are you looking for?

Me: When it will be available?

Allyson: The 2017 Tacoma TRD off road will be available this fall. I do not have a release date yet! But as soon as I found out I will let you know! Do you hate any other questions about it? (Yes, she really asked me if I "hate" any other questions)

Me: Not looking for the TRD Off Road... I'm inquiring about the NEW TRD Pro (Tacoma)

Allyson: I googled the truck and I got this for a answer (The Tacoma TRD Pro Series will start getting down and dirty in the fall of 2016.) I hope that answers your question! Let me know if you have anymore I can help with!

Me: Yes. I am aware that the TRD Pro will be arriving this fall. I was wondering if you all had any specifics yet. I have heard that some dealerships are already taking pre-orders for these as the demand is expected to be very high. If the only information you have on these is via 'Google', then I will check with another dealer.

I really don't like to be snarky, but it's frustrating when these dealers know NOTHING about their inventory or the vehicles they're selling. This particular dealer has ZERO 2016 Tacomas (regardless of trim level)... I wanted to stick with them because we bought my wife's Rav4 there, and they treated us pretty well. Plus, a buddy of mine is the service manager there...

I really thought I was going to be able to hold off on getting a new truck for a few years, but the bug has bitten me somethin' fierce! I don't even know if I can wait until this fall! I'm eyeballing 2016 DCLB TRD Sport right now...

I was just talking to a dealer here in CO, and they were taking pre-orders. I was between, TRD off-rd DC Long Bed and the Pro. One of the sales managers (He actually is the president of the local Off-road club) actually talked me out of the Pro! He said its probably going to be somewhere close to 42-43K. Said if you were going to keep it bone stock and not upgrade anything, then sure spend your money on that. But said if you were thinking of getting bigger tires, longer suspension, Off-rd bumper etc. Save the money and buy the Off-rd, and upgrade it later. I put an order in for the Off-rd DC LB, and got a great deal.

Also said in CO all dealers will be selling the TRD Pro's at MSRP, no discounts.

Really? 42-43k? I was thinking more like 45k.

Yea he wasn't exactly sure. It seemed he said at least 43K, probably will go up from there I would imagine. But that price MSRP is almost 7K more than I got mine for out the door. I can do alot with 7k... Like the Insain Fabrication 2016 Tacoma front bumper with a winch and all the lights, and a lift kit.

yeah man! lots to do with that much cash. I'd say the Pro is more for those who plan
to leave it as it and be done with it. I really like the cement color but for me, that would
be the only thing I'd get out of it as it would be my DD...hopefully I don't do it! :D

That's because it is. Full sizes are obsenely large these days ☺ some may even say the Tacos are too big (turning radius )

Yea I also did love that Cement Color. Will be interesting to see how the Fox shocks are tuned. will they be more adjusted for ride quality on road, or more off-rd oriented? That was a concern that the sales guy at the dealership had.

I'm debating between the Pro and the Off Road. I'm not sure the Pro is going to offer enough of a difference over the Off Road for what I need the truck to do. I live in the south so we aren't doing any desert running here. It's all nice and slow trail crawling here and that's when you can find a trail. The primary reason I'm getting the truck is because I have a job that I still have to go to when the weather is bad. So six inches of snow on the road, water over the roads because of flash floods, trees down, I still have to go in. So I need something that can handle those days. I figure the Off Road can handle what I need the truck for but the Pro would be nice.
