I think this is a good idea IF you can stay within the miles. I put just less than 10K miles per year. So leasing works for me. The benefit to a "closed end" lease is that Taco'a hold their resale. The resid value on my '14 was set at about 57% (I think). It actually held about 80%. Smart people would probably capitalize on that, turn it in and go buy something used. Not me. I rolled the dice again on a SW AT '17 Pro lease. Resid value is set at 70%. So it'll be a little closer in 35 more months. But I love it. Can't lose on a Tacoma.

I "ordered" mine Aug 1st. White with MT. They told me 2 months because I'm in Alaska.

Dealer called last week and said it would be the end of November. And that its red.....and an auto.

But my salesman (and buddy) said he might not get anymore; so i should look at it. He did say they requested 5 and so far have 1 coming. While looking over the paperwork, the last 4 of the VIN stood out with special meaning. So i continue to wait......:notsure:

I have the Leer Trilogy X2T. The slam latches are a little finicky in colder weather, but it's a solid build. Looks better than OEM,IMO.

I have the extang trifecta signature series. (http://www.extang.com/trifecta-signature-pickup-truck-soft-tri-fold-tonneau-covers.html) The signature series is really nice. It has a matte black finish, almost like a canvas. I'm not a flashy person so the matte finish works perfect for me and looks great on the PRO. Ive had it on my truck for about 2 months and havent had any issues. Leak free!

if you want the MT, don't even bite on the AT,,, that's crazy. besides, an MT in the snow will be sublime.

2 months to get an MT Pro isn't weird in any way. i'm at nearly 3 month and i'm in Texas! of course part of my wait is finding a dealer who will sell at or under MSRP. many clowns around here trying to sell for several thousand above.

I was looking at the PRO but was disappointed they didn't offer it with the factory sunroof or JBL so I ordered a Quicksand TRD Off Road fully loaded.

I don't care about the JBL. I do miss the Moonroof.

I special ordered my 16 TRD OR with the moonroof as it was a must. However, after I saw the PRO, had to have it, and its the first car in my life without a moonroof. I am making do... for now.

I might still, just going to look at this one and see what I think....when it arrives

I have found numerous ones listed on the east coast through Southeast, they had 15 or so, all 3 colors, mostly AT. But by the time I fly down, drive back(week) and winterize it, I've spent a lot more. Not to mention, I'd have a hard time with any warranty work I need here. There's no other choice, one dealer for AK. Time will tell, I'm in no rush or commitment at this point.

Regardless of wher you buy, your local dealer will service warranty work

I know the will, they just make it difficult. My daughter's car was purchased in Anchorage, from same dealer as in Fairbanks. Fairbanks doesn't want to anything to it. They keep trying to send her to ANC.

I don't really care about the moonroof but I want the JBL system!
Moonroofs are so small you don't even notice when they're open. I guess you can look up when it's open and see the sky but that's only at night. Can't drive with it open during the day cuz the sun will bake your head. One thing nice about them is tilting them to let a little fresh air in I guess. Really a non-issue for me.
However I love music and have no intentions of ripping my new truck apart to install some flavor-of-the-month stereo in it so I'm stuck with the crappy stock stereo when I get my Pro next month :(

I am the opposite. First I listen to AM radio, so JBL is worthless.

Secondly, if I listened to stereo, aftermarket stereo is WAY BETTER than OEM JBL.

I don't want an aftermarket moonroof.

Actually I disagree with you. If you leave the moonroof shade open, the interior looks very light and airy.

My favorite car was my 1993 MR2 Turbo T top. Just seeing above through the glass made it amazingly airy.

    Well that's encouraging.
I'll be coming from a 2015 WRX STi with Harmon Kardon audio.

the moonroof was to die for in my last car, VW R32. the roof is high in those cars, though. i sat in an OR Taco with the moonroof at a dealer and the roof was too low for me. not touching my head but close. so, the sense of high open spaces was totally lost on me. i personally feel more "open" and spacious without the moonroof on the Taco due to the higher ceiling inside. suits me for the Pro. which is funny because in the beginning i wouldn't even consider looking at a Pro because no moonroof option!
