    Not much stock left.
Update: I talked to the dealer in Phoenix where I bought the truck, he blamed it on rail dust. He claimed vehicles pick this stuff up while sitting in the rail yards waiting to be shipped out. I don't know maybe, but sounded strange to me. So I talked to my local dealer in SLC, he claimed that every vehicle in Utah has this issue b/c of the blades on the plow trucks. He claimed that every white vehicle they have that is used to move people around has it. He recommended an acid wash, then a polish. He didn't recommend using clay bar b/c it can remove the clear coat. He added that it should be waxed a couple of times a year.

I had the dealer acid wash and polish the PRO today. It looks good and only cost $96.

Any of you white vehicle owners who live where the roads are plowed in winter have this issue? I guess the moral of the story is don't buy a white vehicle unless you don't mind a little extra maintenance to keep it looking good.

Ill see if the dealer with budge from MSRP. Never paid that price in my life, but if they wont budge then I guess thats the price to pay for a limited supply machine. Bet if I could afford to wait any longer, I might save a few bucks.

    None.
I have "re" the rules, and as I stated up front, lots of folks are still looking so I passed it along. I also said I have no connection to the seller. So, before you go out of your way to call me a liar because of what it "looks like" maybe you follow the rules (that you like to remind others of when it's convenient to you) about being abusive on the site. I'm starting to think the other guy going after you has a point.

Old post- but normal. (Brake dust) All vehicles get it- just shows on white much more. Wax or 2x a year and you're good to go. I waxed mine over the summer. Just stay on top of it and you'll be fine.

Yes I joined just to post this.
All you guys here need to be more stern with your dealers. First this isn't a Ferrari its still a Toyota, second its not a limited production vehicle, its not limited, period, more will be made. And lastly with the new ZR2 and a raptor there is plenty of competition, so you have that working for you, against the dealer.

Some of you have ordered your trucks way way before me and still haven't gotten them. Long story short wasn't planning to trade in my 15 SR5, I wanted to see what the new ZR2 will look like and how it will stack up against the taco, was really seduced by it. To be fair I think the ZR2 will surpass the pro in many ways short term, long term with the new diesel and suspension will see how they will hold up.

I digress, again long story short, took in my SR5 to fix squeaky clutch pedal and at the same time my dealer kept calling me with the "upraise my truck" bs, so I thought I would humor them and went and talked to the sales department. I made it simple, I want a TRD Pro Manual, thats it, don't care what color. Yes I was told I couldn't negotiate on the new TRD PRO, because its a specialty truck blah blah, I respectfully listened, told my side of the story, and too keep this short got $1800 under the invoice. Yes invoice because these dealers add "accessories" to these trucks and thats where you got to play the game with them. That was Sat Jan 21, on Fri Jan 27 I drove out there with a Cement Manual with 4 miles on the odometer, the sticker on the door says truck was manufactured Jan of 2017. With all the accessories as well, and yes below invoice, it ended being 40,400 i think, I got 28K for the SR5. The best accessory was the extended Toyota care which includes 5 years of road side assistance, extra oil changes is fine, but I do miss changing my oil by myself.

And yet I read all these posts here with guys sitting and waiting for a truck since like October with no production date and horror stories of other members saying how these trucks are like 48K or something. Dealer's best negotiating tactic is simply not negotiating, so NEGOTIATE, I probably could have gotten even more off or added to my trade. You're not desperate, the are other trucks that compete with the TRD PRO so make the dealer work for you.

There she is the old and the new the day I picked it up. I swapped out the wheels/tires and the predator bars on these trucks. I do love those 4runner wheels like so many people on here. I thought about swapping about the husky liner mudguards but decided against it, didn't know if they would rub, since the SR5 had a 3 inch toytec lift.

And another thing, for people getting annoyed with the TRD PROs, saying how its better to buy a cheaper truck and modify it. As you can see the way my SR5 was modified which direction I was going. I got the SR5 brand new for 32K out the door. That tire/wheel combo is a healthy $2100 or so after taxes and balancing, the old school predators are $800 and the toytec lift with installation and UCA and then replacing that bushing that starts vibrating in tacos after a lift was about 3k total, the Toyota grill and white (stock was chrome) bezel around and powder coating the rear bumber white is about another 600 or so, and lastly the magnaflow exhaust with install is $700 ( fine, diy its still 600). So lets do the math thats about 7.2K that I put into SR5( to make it HOW I WANT it too look), I don't remember the prices exactly so lets round down to 6k to keep me in check, add that to 32K thats a 38kish I spend on the SR5, about the MSRP of a 2015 TRD PRO, I still had the base spartan interior of an SR5. So yes I think its worth it to get a TRD PRO, I'm content with it, escpecially since I kept my old tire/wheel combo and predator bars. I definitely will keep this truck for a long time, since I got so lucky with that color and manual combo.

I might be talking out of my ass or maybe my dealer knows magic, I definitely got lucky on the color, especially when originally I did mouth off about how i don't care about the color lol:). Just be patient, polite and stern with your dealer. This is even not the long story, the truck in the picture is a different vin number than the truck I signed the contract 6 days prior, but nevertheless I still got a manual cement in 6 days.

That SR5 is sitting in the used sales lot with 34K sticker (was 35 on monday). Now that is insanity.

I'm still critical of the PRO, that manual shift knob is atrocious, its literally the same shift knob from the auto tran. its like they forgot. I'm used to it, but I wish I could use my grey TRD Ball knob. The only thing that is a no go is the ball knob leaves that big gape in the leather sleeve as its got no point of attachment now. Somebody needs to make a plug for the sleeve so it looks good like on the 2nd gen manuals. No arm bar on driver side, and small bottle holders are kind of lame. Why does the highlander get 5 usbs and tacos still have 1? Other then that, great looking truck and the suspension feels great compared to the old truck.

What region are you in? Mind posting the final bill of sale or something? Would like to see concrete proof of one selling that low.

In Cali I'd imagine the dealers will laugh their collective asses off someone trying to buy a Pro under invoice. Or maybe you're just the next Henry Kissinger at car negotiations. Ionno. :notsure:

I bought the truck in NC so south east region, and it saddens me to know that dealers treat people that way. Yes I mind posting personal info on a public internet forum. PM me an email or a phone number if you really want to talk and I can text you the pics ( got no problem with that). I'm not trying to bs you, like I said these are not limited production and this is not summer of 2016, there is no excuse for not having these trucks available, we are 6/7 months out before 18s start rolling in.

Dealer laughing their asses off in my face you say? Thats fine I'll take my business else where, its a free country and like I've mentioned before ZR2 Colorado is a serious threat and hey if Chevy is willing to work with me and Toyota is not, then Chevy will get my money. I'm not desperate, I make the dealer work for me especially when I'm paying 40k+ for a car and TRD PRO is not the only player on the market, don't forget the new Ford Ranger will get into the specialty off road truck game as well.

I might hit you up later when my Pro comes around. Thanks for the offer.

Everything seems to be pointing towards buying a Pro in the South. Seems we got Pros just sitting on lots and dealers willing to negotiate. Interesting....

Now has anyone on here from California bought from out of state? If so, how was the process and how much did you end up spending? Really curious because dealerships seems to love their mark ups here.

Hey good for you on that deal. But in Cali and surrounding states there are sometimes up to 15 people on the waiting list for these trucks and some at this point probably won't get allocations. No dealership here is doing anything like that for you. They're maximizing profits and that's it. Try and negotiate with them at all and the next guy at the door will gladly take your place.

Let me do this quick post before I get to work, my original truck was still at "sea" when I signed the contract, its a dealer term meaning the truck is midway between the factory and a distribution center, which for SE US is in Florida I believe. ETA was 13 days. That was on a Saturday, on Tuesday i get a mysterious phone call saying my truck has been sold already, its not available, offering me another color truck or an auto cement. I responded that I want the truck with the vin thats on the contract, at this point I wired the money already. I get to the dealership and start asking around about how my truck has been sold from under me, and was going to see if they are trying to scam me (sell my truck from under me to a different buyer and sell me a second truck). The general manager and the sales manager say, everything is good, the truck is on its way from Alabama on the back on a semi, and nobody knows who was the mysterious caller. Well the truck came, but it was a different VIN number truck, it even had a different accessories package. They lost the original truck from under me and probably had to do a direct exchange from some Alabama dealer, which is probably expensive doing a DX from out of state.

My point is my truck came from out of state, but it was on a dealers dime and it still had 4 miles on odometer. So I realize you cali guys are hurting, I don't know if its possible for your dealers to get these trucks from out of state via a DX, you need to make these dealers start working for you. This whole mentality of there is 10 guys in line for this truck and if I snooze I lose is wrong. Do you know it for a fact? Its all just dealer tactics to get you not to negotiate the price. I was told when buying mine, that there are only 5 Cement manuals in the entire US (he actually said world), that number always changed, one sales rep commented how there was only 2. The thing is its not my problem that a manual trd pro is a white unicorn, its all bs, look at this forum, there is definettley more then 5 cement manuals on here or manuals in general. I never deal with this white unicorn bs, this is America, the truck is made in Texas not in Japan, there is no excuse why you can't deliver the truck. Why was I able to buy a January production truck in January, get it delivered in 6 days, and some of you still waiting for yours, having ordered the truck last year. Why is your truck just now in February getting off the production line. You should be asking your dealer that, cause if there is a line, then I definitely skipped a lot of people, regardless of your region the truck is made in one factory.

If there is 10 guys in line to buy the truck, its in a dealers best interested to sell to all 10 guys. Its not in their interest to loose you guys to Chevy or Ford, I would want to sell 10 TRD PROs and not give my competition any business. If there are trucks that are sitting in SE region on the lot gathering dust, maybe you guys from Cali can get your dealers to do something about it. If you already paid for the truck and shook hands on a truck, you can still make them work to get you that truck faster. Get a quote or some papers started for the new ZR2 and tell you dealer if its not here in x amoiunt of days, you're talking your business elsewhere. Get a flight itinerary to Texas or midwest and give tell em you're willing to fly and buy our of state if your truck is not here by x amount of days.

Once supply catches up, dealers in socal will be actually dealing them-- youll know when toyota starts advertising low APRs on the tacoma. Pretty much any other toyota vehicle, no issue with getting the OTD price for just under MSRP, so ~9-10% off msrp. Tacomas just are in demand right now.

The wait list is real at longo. I've seen it, not 15 people but 5 ish ahead of me all listed with their "order" . No one paid anything because the dealer has nothing to sell. SE Toyota is literally it's own entities with its own rules... it's a middle man buyer who probably can make exchanges among any of the SE dealers because they are the dealer. But out here is Cali dealers are not doing swaps that I know of. Each dealer gets an X number of allocations and that's it. Anyways it'll probably be back to normal with an actual ordering process and dealer swaps once more production ramps up. Til then it's a very tight supply in CA.
