Tundra won't fit in the garage so I'm stuck with the Tacoma Pro.
Not gonna buy a $50k truck and leave it outside to sit in the sun and rain all the time.

I too enjoy being able to fit my Tacoma in the garage and the Tundra wouldn't fit. I do like the TRD pro, maybe when oil gets back to $80 bbl I'll get one.

43 is less than a limited lol.

and if I remember right a sr5 tundra here is just under 50K, after freight and fees etc probably even more. Never really looked into it much since its out of my price range...and lets just be honest here, when it comes to full sized, I'll take a Ram eco diesel over the tundra any day, and thats close to the same price.

ya and with our dollar shitting the bed it certainly doesn't help. Idiotic shits in the UK didn't help either. The pound dropping just makes the USD that much stronger which in turn drives ours down. So ya definitely will not help.
I'm curious what the TRD OR will be since its supposed to be offered as a 4 door here now too.

If you're going to get a diesel id stay away from the ram 1500, thats not a cummins. If your going to get a full size diesel id go with a 2500, but then you gotta drop some decent coin right away to remove all the emissions crap so you dont end up having soot build up in your brand new engine. No one really understands that diesel is a terrible idea now that the epa has required all this crap on them that makes them have less power and run less efficient to create less pollution.

    not as bad up here.
I currently have a TDI and never once regretted it. and everyone I've talked to that has the eco diesel swear by it being a great truck.
oh and that engine everyone hates on being Fiat...they make some of the greatest diesel engines out there. my family back in italy has had a fiat tractor for years with no problems. Fiat knows how to make a diesel. Besides I don't need a 3/4 ton. hell I don't even need a 1/2 ton, which is why I'm not looking at any full sized.

I need a truck for camping/touring thats all. And maybe renos around the house and a few side jobs here and there, and a few coils of wire for a house aren't that heavy lol. Neither of which require a full sized.

I'm still trying to figure is it even worth me getting an OR or Pro since I don't really like the E lockers, I'd rather have an air locker so I'd probably be changing that anyways. And even with the pro's upgraded suspension still cant really fit a 33" tire so suspension would still be changing.

All the places I go camping right now with my friends they recommend 33s or larger just to get around the trails. So I'm leaning more towards a TRD sport. great for in town and then just lift and locker and I should be fine for camping. and I'll save some money while I'm at it

tundra trd pro dbl cab is 56K here in ontario...

and just checked...taco limited is $44 625 starting. add in freight, fees, tax probably looking at around 52-53K

So I'm gonna assume the TRD Pro is going to start at around 46-47, very few will be released here and after tax etc probably 55-57K CND.

Dont forget we pay 13% tax and a shit load of other bull shit licensing fees from our cunt of a premier kathleen wynne. stupid ugly troll looking cunt is destroying our province and just taxing us more and more. Already added 4cent extra per litre of fuel tax. about 30cents of every litre of gas here is just federal and provincal taxes. who knows what new shit her and her group of idiots are coming up with for next.

    First Post :)
I have been lurking and researching here for the past three months; ever since I realized the Raptor would not fit in my garage.

I had basically decided on the 2017 TRD Pro or possibly a dealer build, but after speaking with the highest rated dealer in my state he basically scared me back towards the Raptor.

it seems like everything you do with or to the truck voids any warranty. He basically said if they can tell the truck has been taken off of pavement, warranty fixes will not happen.

What is the point of a truck, if you don't take it off road? The one Toyota promo video runs the new Pro pretty hard. Warranty gone on that vehicle...

Am I up in the night?
(He also said 5 folks on the list currently for their dealership and joining now might get me a Pro 6 months after they come out)

At this point I am ready to give my money to Ford and park it outside till I can move.

I highly doubt ford will still warranty a truck after mods as well lol.
and whats the retail on a raptor down their? I think they start at 60K here. Never mind that 6.2L is a pig on fuel.

And you wont get the reliability you get on a toyota (cue the 3rd gen haters)
Some reason I highly doubt that doing any off road voids warranty. I know in a lease it can cause problems but thats about it. How could they differ from off road and just regular mud? What if you live in a new housing development that still has mud everywhere? Or you have a cottage or something with a dirt road? I'd contact toyota warranty department directly about that. Hell that means taking it onto a construction site voids?

I'm looking at the new 2017 Raptor with the 3.5 ecoboost, so tiny fuel and power improvements over the 6.2L beast. Yeah, not the same planet price wise as the Tacoma...
Still waiting for that to be announced just like the taco.

Definitely not as reliable as the toyota, but i would pretty much take the new raptor stock.

Another hard pill for me to swallow is my Infiniti has 320 hp and 280ish torque, so the tacoma would be less powerful than my tiny sedan. The Raptor however...

The dealer said if there was any evidence of mud/stones under the truck (or marks) or that it was driven off-road, it could be turned down for service.

hell even just road work can cause that, this dealer must be on meth with a policy like that.
I'd be careful with the eco boost though, everyone I've met that has one has had problems. The turbos go fast.
My girlfriends cousin just got one pre owned its a 14 and already needed the engine rebuilt. Turbos went and the turbine got launched into the manifold. Too many issues, especially when towing (if you'll be doing any)

Gutcha didnt realize you were in canada here in the US the epa has ruined our diesels, i too had a 06 jetta tdi and freakin loved it. 06 was the last year before the epa started requirements for ULSD and all the particulate filters ect. Im sure the fiat diesel is actually a great engine if it didn't have all the epa crap on it like the tractor you mentioned since farm equipment can still run off of off road diesel fuel and doesnt need to meet emissions except probably in California which is the craziest state when it comes to emissions. California is the reason for one of the best aftermarket diesel company's that made chips and such for rams going out of business from having to pay out law suits to California government.

It's not just the EPA that has done it. Hell there are Auto producers out there that won't even bring their diesel to the US because the diesel is to DIRTY and don't want to constantly have to deal with warranty issues because of it.

Thats not true at all, auto producers wont bring their diesels here because it cost to much to have their diesel engines conform to what the EPA wants, our diesel fuel here is actually the cleanest as it gets with ULSD being only 15ppm of sulfur compared to the old LSD from pre 2006 with 200ppm of sulfer. Diesel can burn as dirty as it wants really as long as it has an open exhaust system but the new diesel requirements make the exhaust system to reintroduce the dirty exhaust back into the system to try and burn off as much soot as possible, look up "soot cooker" most diesel guys that know what their doing delete it from their engine.

Lost in Utah, your dealer sounds like a little bitch. Two dealerships I've worked with don't do that, they know their trucks see off-pavement. I think if it was obviously massive user abuse then they might balk a bit, but they have never denied (or even implied not fixing) my Tacoma or my friends.

I think you need to check your facts. As it stands right now California emission standards are about 3-4 years behind Germany. Where do you think the UL standards are coming from. We were testing 50ppm 15 years ago in Germany. That were the soot filters and Urea injection crap all came from.

No really, Volvo has tested their diesels in the States and because of that test has decided not to bring their that line-up to the US. The test was from Texas to NJ. before they got to Florida they had the first break down. The test was stopped at that point to figure out what the problem was. It was decided that the fuel was the possible problem. They had 500gal of fuel shipped from Europe and continued the two car test. One using fuel from gas stations the other vehicle use the European fuel. The vehicle using normal fueling stations broke down another two times before reaching NJ. Faults ranging from Fuel injectors to High pressure pump.

I know this is a Tacoma forum but I found this on another site, this Cement color is looking pretty darn good! Very tempting and if not the Cement Tacoma TRD PRO, then this!
