Looking back I wish I went with the truxedo titanium cover. Gives the sleek look of a soft cover with the strength and protection of a trifold. I suggest you look into it. It may or may not give you enou clearance for mounting your bike. I know a vinyl soft cover would though. Also the truxedo Lopez is removable

Need TW's help on new tires. I was really leaning towards the KO2s in 265/75/16 until I found out it's only offered in Load Range E for this size. Any recommendations? Ride comfort on the street is important.

Saw a white TRD Pro at a dealer in Dublin, GA if anyone in south GA is looking for one. Didn't stop and look inside so I'm not sure what transmission was in it

How many people put a deposit then purchased elsewhere?
I have a deposit down at a dealership and they claim to have an allocation
But I found a pro exactly how I want it at another dealership
Wonder if it's worth jumping ship or just waiting the good wait

As far as the pros go, if you find an unsold unit in the configuration you want and the price you want and you can get it now.... DO IT! Deposits are usually refundable. Why wait is the real question?

IMO jump ship. I have 2 on deposit right now. One cement and one white. If the cement shows up on time and as promised I'll take it. If the white one beats it here, one in the hand beats two in the bush.

i put a deposit months ago, probably the first in Texas to do it. this was at a high volume dealer, they took my deposit and showed me the allocation in the system. it was to be the first MT Pro allocated in Texas. i had the date but no VIN since it wasn't built at the time.

the date came and went. my salesman apologized. another local dealer was recently purchased and they were ramping up their sales numbers bigtime, and the Gulf State distribution decided last minute to change the allocations and send this first MT Pro to this other dealer to support them. so it looked like i lost the truck.

my sales guy called me and told me the other dealer who did end up receiving the allocation was an old friend & coworker. they do deals back & forth. they made it easy by canceling the original deposit and doing it over at the new dealer. the truck was reallocated to another dealer but i managed to follow it over there with help from both sales guys.

i got that same truck, first MT allocation in Tx, at MSRP. delivered last Dec. keep your eyes open and keep your sales guy on your side in a friendly way. they are there to help but you are the ones steering the ship regarding your purchase.

I'm seriously considering selling this bad boy! It has less than 5K miles and comes with extras. I will list it in the "For Sale" section of this Forum.

Have to know why you want to sell it. If it's for a personal matter, I won't dig. However, if you don't like it, I'd like to hear why. I have the same truck (manual however) and I absolutely love mine. Not quite as peppy in the lower RPM's as I would like but other than that, a great looking truck and fun to drive!

Not all deposits are refundable. Had a run with the salesman right from the get go. He wanted me to make a $500 deposit nonrefundable and he already found a truck. I told him I was not going to make a nonrefundable deposit over the phone. I live a long ways from you and you get the the truck I will pay you for it when you get it which was like 3 days more he backed off. I feel sorry for sales people for what they are made to do.

The Tacoma TRD PRO's are so hard to find especially in the color and transmission you desire. That is why I wanted one so bad. It took me months to track one down and secure it and we all no that the dealers do not want to wheel and deal.
I like having something that looks great and you probably won't see everyday when I driving down the road. All Tacoma...all truck owners stair at these things in envy. Can't tell you how many complements I get every week about how cool it looks. It's just different looking and not over done with monster tires and a jacked up suspension. There is a limit and most of those trucks never see dirt their entire life.
