You think it's the serious off-roaders who are going after this? I don't, I think it's many, like
myself, who love the looks of the new truck and may off-road now and then and like the thought
of everything already being done and under the factory warranty. I'd think anyone looking for
a serious off-road capable vehicle will be buying the OR and upgrading it to their own specs.

Which of these new features offer more off-road capability?

    Leather
    Premium Exhaust
    Blacked out Head lights
    Blacked out Tail lights
    Rigid Fog lights
    Cement Paint color
    New Wheel Design
Sexy Hood Scoop :D and New grille

You bring up two separate issues. I'm going off what Toyota thinks based on their statements and releases. This is a serious 4x4 truck, the best 4x4 they offer. What you're talking about is what "the people" think. As far as that goes I think there are people like me, people like you, and a lot of in-between concerning potential usage, including those that whine incessantly and cry like a whore when a couple options aren't offered. Of course they will sex it up a little to differentiate it against the other models but a lot of that stuff are things off-roaders do to their trucks. The bottom line is people are so needy and demanding and want want want... get another model then. The level of high maintenance entitlement today is apparently bleeding into truck buying.

Y'all both hit the nail on the head! :amen:

So as the title of this thread States: "2017 TRD PRO, who's waiting?" I guess I'm waiting, but more to see how it all plays out. How much, how available, what options, etc. I guess I'm not necessarily waiting to buy one, but maybe... :anonymous:

Yeah, I'm about 2 years from buying a new Tacoma so I can definitely wait to see how things play out. But as it stands now, the Pro is THE leading contender.

Well supposedly a local dealer ordered a cement gray auto for me today. He says 3-4 weeks out, but can't give me msrp. He said when he has msrp and invoice then we will talk numbers and he'll get me a good deal. We shall see.

I'm in the same spot, just no estimate on time frame yet. They took $500 from me for a deposit, I believe to allocate a truck, and that's it. Haven't discussed pricing or options yet.

They didn't need any type of deposit from me, which makes me a bit more skeptical lol.

I'm in the same boat, it all depends on the price and what the trade-in will bring. If the
loss & cost outweigh the "want" I won't be buying it.

Down to $14,500 here on the 2016, it's the starting all over and
another stereo upgrade, not to mention the $$$$$$$$$$ that
is making me go back and forth.

Hey guys, I'm a new member to the forum! I just wanted to post here since I actually wanted to get a TRD PRO but I was a bit too impatient and decided to get an OR instead. Plus too, I didn't want my trade-in to lose even more value once trade in time comes. My local dealer emailed me today saying that I could order one for 3k down with price being at MSRP due to limited availability. I'm just so frustrated because they made it seem that they would only be getting a hand full so I gave up waiting because I didn't want to get let down in not getting, but now I find out I could've gotten one. But meh.....I love my OR and it's basically the same truck as the PRO. Plus too, I have student loans to pay for still :( so I don't want to become outright broke haha.

The inventory manager at the dealership I'm working with mentioned to me today the Pros will be selling at MSRP as well because of their rarity. They're supposed to be getting ten according to him. I'll be getting the first one.

Nice! I hope you like your truck when it comes :) The only dying question that I, and others most likely, have is what IS the MSRP going to be haha.

Why don't you try another dealership. They want you to put down 3000.00. I just order me a OR fully loaded and did not have to put a penny down. The prices are not out yet but they said they would work with me on the price. We will see. I worked through my credit union which works with local Toyota dealerships on pricing Good luck

Same situation here. Would consider trading my black OR for a cement pro. We will see when they arrive.

I wish I could try another dealership but here in Hawaii, we only have one haha. But yeah..I really like my OR which is basically the same truck as the PRO minus the fox shocks. I will just wait and see how other people like their PROs. But damn....I shouldn't of fell for the "dealer trap" in them saying they are getting little to no allocations so just buy what they have now haha. Oh well, I hope in a few years time the next TRD PRO will actually be a direct competitor to the raptor. wishful thinking :p
