Americans are too lazy to drive stick anymore. I now need to shop for vehicles by who still offers a stick.

I grew up on a stick and didn't get an AT until I got married and my wife failed to show me she could drive one properly. I will say that I'm picky when it comes to manufacturers and sticks. I find European sticks to be smooth and so much fun to drive. Japanese manuals aren't bad, but in general I find Toyota sticks to be clunky with longer shift throws. My '05 X-Runner wasn't bad, but I'd prefer a BMW MT over a Toyota MT any day of the week!

    Options I'm getting:
    - All-weather package with mats and sill protectors (truck better still come with the embroidered TRD Pro cloth floormats in the back seat!)
    - Spare tire lock
    - Glass breakage sensor (not getting an aftermarket "Viper" alarm or anything)
    - Rubber bed mat
    - TRD radiator cap
    That's it for now!

See there, all the 016 DCSB AT owners who want an 017 should figure out how to sell your Taco in CAN! You could probably ask $42k and get it.

I've been keeping close contact with my dealer but no negotiation has started due to not having a pro allocated but they have 5k mark ups on the 4runner and tundra pros .. So not sure what I'll do yet .. Making everything even more complicated is I have a mustang to trade in ..

It's only 15K on top if you're trading in a '16 OR truck. Obviously depreciation is a huge chunk of the money.

A fully loaded 4WD DCSB OR is $39K, the TRD Pro is $42K.

So in reality, when shopping for a new truck, the price difference is only $3K. You actually get a lot for the extra $3K, but you would be missing JBL and a moon roof.

Your theory is correct, but I don't believe your prices are. Fully loaded OR is right (what mine was), but that is with 6AT. TRD Pro with 6AT would be 44k after destination. 5k difference.

I hate the thought of losing JBL. I don't understand their reasoning for leaving that option off. Hard core off-roaders (not me) will build a truck instead of buying the PRO. Hard core audiofiles (not me) will build a system instead of getting the JBL.

Those who won't mess with a stock truck and trade in 1-2 years (me) are who factory options like PRO and JBL are targeted after. I don't think anyone seriously intends to go desert racing in a stock PRO :)

Frankly the PRO is lame as hell. Not worth the sticker premium, not to mention "markups". WTF, markup for a pedestrian Toyota?

There are so many other fun vehicles for the money.

    But whatever floats one boat.

Makes me wonder if the hood comes with "pro" adhesive and "pro" variant of buzzes and vibrations.

Yes, your figure is closer. I'm figuring around 5.5k -6 grand diff, between what I can buy a loaded DCOFF vs. Auto Pro. For me 500$ over invoice on DCOFF vs. 500$ off msrp PRO.
Reading the PRO spec sheets it says PREMIUM AUDIO, that is encouraging.

A 2017 trd pro AT is 42700. Destination is 900. I guess I was about $1600 bucks off.
