The appeal of the Pro for me is the ability to get the Tech package (Blind Spot Monitoring etc) without being saddled with a sunroof, plus the fact that it enables leather+manual transmission. Those are two combos you can't get from the factory on any other Taco, which is pretty appealing.

There are other unique combos in the Pro that I don't place as much value on (i.e. skewp+locker), but some people do I'm sure.

Black TRD PRO Leather seats with stiched logo, can't find these standard anywhere.
    Rigid LED Fog lights
TRD PRO Wheels and Kevlar tires (definitely swapping the tires out though)
    TRD PRO grille
Blacked out headlights and tail lights

But yeah that's all you get, and I could go on. I love seeing all the comments saying you can build the same exact thing for cheaper, AND BETTER. LOL. That's ignorant. I would love to see it broken down by someone who thinks that. Start with a TRD Off-Road and add everything that comes on the PRO. It's going to come out to right at the same damn price.

Nothing ignorant about anything I'm saying. Bought my first new Toyota pick up in 1989. I bet I've owned and aftermarket built more trucks than you'll ever.

I simply made a few observations about the 17 PRO. It was an attack against any of you crying and saying stupid shit to me now. I've used aftermarket products on 4 Toyotas I've owned and drove Hundreds of thousands of miles in them. Everyone I put at least 140,000 on and 2 over 200,000.

The problem with your post was that it was inaccurate. The pro comes with more than just the suspension.

Your tone and delivery also needs work, just like your parking.

    - fancy fox shocks
    - pro grill
    - fog lights

    Explain fake leather.

Different wheels too. Same engine as the stock counterparts just like the previous Tacoma TRD pro and the Tundra PRO, and 4 Runner PRO.

Not sure why this is a surprise.

You get one I'm all set. It won't do anything differently or go anywhere my two won't.

    1. I meant to say some leather panels stitched with sof-tex.
    2. Surprise to me. This is my first Toyota. From my experience with other manufactures, the top tier models typically have 80% specifically designed components which includes the engine and drive train.

Ah, that would explain a lot. This is not like my M5, where it bears little resemblance to a 5 series. This is not like an AMG car.

My M5 was also 40% more expensive than the nearest 5 series counterpart.

Think of the TRD pros as trucks with better suspension and some other minor goodies. It's also only about a 3k up-charge.

I can see you are new to Tacomas--you put volks on your truck! Lol

I guess that PRO is the one to get.

Is there gonna be a limited run on these trucks?

The point is, this is no different than any other brand "upgraded packages". You could always buy a LT Chevy and bolt on your own accessories and make your own LTZ.

I was in Las Vegas last week for the Mint 400 off road race and had a chance to talk to the lead engineer at Fox who developed the suspension for the PRO. The whole group acknowledged that the suspension is "best of class" noting a significant improvement over the Bilsteins that come on the '16. He noted that this was the first "Internal Bypass" shock for Fox and a real performer.
