I will cut to the chase quick here.

    2018 DCLBOR V6 Auto
It’s Been at my dealership service department since March 6th with a mysterious vibration that comes and goes when decelerating from 40mph down to 5mph. After describing the noise with the service Advisor I went for a test drive with the shop Foreman and could easily replicate the “rumble-strip” type vibration. They now have Toyota TAS engineers involved and I have no update from them besides “the pinion angle is incorrect”. I’m getting close to lemon law here in NY but I love the truck and took me months to locate and purchase it so I’m not sure where to go with it at this point.

Page ONE of the bulletin about half way down.

“This bulletin applies to ALL 2016 model year Tacoma vehicles NOT equipped with the TRD Off-Road Package option.”

I know what the fuck it says. I know cause I have read every post in that thread. I am telling you that is more than likely related to the issues you are experiencing. Take it to the dealer. You think he just happened to come up with "rumble strip" on his own. It's a known issue and the tsb, which does include some off road models, describes the pinion angle, etc. Don't post on here asking for help then bitch about the answer you get.

My truck has the same vibs. Does not do it all the time. Dealer blames it on the aftermarket tire. Pfhhh. I am in Canada, alot of those TSBs mean nothing up here.

I had the same vibe on my 2016 TRDOR and gave up on the dealer and fixed it myself.
3 degree shims from Wheelers Offroad. Cheap and easy.

Seems like a needle bearing issue...

Reason why I swapped mines out for an ECGS bushing when I did a lift. Didn’t want the hassle of dealing with the dealership when I know it’ll go out sooner or later.

Hmmm... maybe your alignment or balance on wheel may not be getting done right? I know I had to go to an off-roading shop cause a regular tire shops could only do toe.

That is a good idea...but it did it with stock tires/no lift also. Only decelerating/coming to a stop. The worst part is that it does not happen everytime

If it is only doing it while deceleration/coming to a stop, I would think that is warped rotors or pads.

Will do it without brakes applied (manual trans) Is seems like drive line angle if I had to guess.

Oh wow... I’m stumped. Never had any issues with drive line angle before so not sure what the symptoms are.
I’m guessing your frame is not bent from towing something too heavy or hitting a curb/big hole at high speed lol =p

Nope, truck has been babied. It is super weird, but not that annoying. The needle bearing vibes were wayy worse. I am sure I will solve it eventually hahaha

Unfortunately, that bulletin does not apply to 2018 model years. In order for a technician to perform an applicable bulletin, it must fit specific prerequisites and specifications.
