My 17 Sport (2WD) does this. Not horrible but feel it in the floor board around 20MPH down to 0. None of the TSBs apply so I’m on my own. The dealer did replace the rear drums (which of course didn’t help).

May take it to a drive axle shop and have them check the angles and shim it if needed. Hope that helps because it has bugged me since day 1

Brought it in this morning again. -18c here today. Was exceptionally bad this morning.

They've assigned another tech (expert oldschool guy, just got back today from months off) to start troubleshooting the rear. On the test drive he said "oh that's definitely a rear problem". He also identified the vibes at other speeds than I could pick out (ex: 100km/h). He's removing the rear driveshaft on Monday in attempt to isolate it.

I spoke with the general Manager about swapping this truck out with a new one. I really don't feel like waiting around another month or so, driving used loaners while they have my new truck. They expressed great sympathy, maybe in part because I've been very patient and respectful to them, but mostly due to these guys being simply an awesome bunch!

He said they had a leftover 2018 pro that they could cut me a smoking deal on. Hoping to break even "plus the model difference"!

Got the pro home for the weekend. Nice truck. Surprised nobody's test drove it. Had 3.0km on it!!!. Fox suspension is out of this world!

Smooth as glass with no vibes!

See what they say on Monday!

I’ve also got this problem going on, 2019 DCSB OR. Thought I was nuts and it was normal, seems to do it when braking and it downshifts. Sounds like I’m going to be taking mine in.... :(

Just crossed 1000 miles this morning, and did it from day 1.

What would happen if these angles aren’t corrected? Exessive wear that may lead to premature failure?

I guess it depends on what’s causing the vibe. Rotors are going to cause different long term problems than something being short and out of alignment right?

Having issues with my 2018 SR5 DCSB 2WD, the truck has done it since new but it got much worse when I lifted it, I’ve since removed the lift and brought it back to stock height and it still vibes everywhere. Turns out after bringing it to the dealership that when the stock leaf spring were installed the u-bolts were improperly tightened / loose and the outboard bolts were backwards due to the mechanic that reinstalled them :annoyed:

After correcting the direction of the bolts, an alignment, repositioning of the carrier bearing and tightening the U-bolts The vibes are much better than before but still present, it’s especially noticeable when accelerating up to highway speeds, there’s like a pulsation type vibration through the gas pedal which leads me to believe the u-joints are already going bad or are not properly greased which I can’t do much about since there are no zerk fittings

There’s still a slight rumble strip vibration off and on when coming to a stop which suggests an issue with the pinion angle, honestly I’m thinking Toyota needs to shim the leaf springs from the factory to remedy this issue.

Has anyone else experienced / noticed the harmonic imbalance / pulsation type vibration through the floor boards and gas pedal? Usually starts to occur over 40 MPH.

Tried to get them to perform T-SB-0023-18 but they said my vehicle wasn’t eligible FML lol

Had the same vibs. Installed a 3° shim and reset the thrust angle on the rear end. No mention on that in here, check and advise have the dealer do this.

100% gone, I loosened the Ubolts on the alignment installed the shims. Snugged the bolts back and shook the rear end around till Thrust was in spec, torqued to 100ftlbs. Old Man Emu ubolt kit and carrier bearing 1/4" drop.

Lol I just fix my truck myself, do it for a living. I'm just here to help others along the way. I'd start with the shims and see how it rides, about 45 mins per side.

Curious, how do you reset the thrust angle?

I have been experiencing these similar symptoms on my brand new 2019 Tacoma OR. I posted in another thread that I have been following (link below) that maybe everyone can add their finds on. So far what I have been reading is it appears the rear axle replacement is fixing the issue, but it has been challenging to get dealers and maybe Toyota to perform this fix. It also sounds like Toyota has a TSB (T-SB-0023-18?) that covers these symptoms but doesn't call out the 2019 or the Off Road trim. Let me know if I am missing anything and please provide updates on any findings. Thank you to everyone that is trying to figure this out!

Other thread covering the vibration issue - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-4x4-tacoma-has-vibration-when-braking.558611/

EDIT: I have the wrong TSB number. T-SB-0023-19 covers the 2019 models but indicates "Non-TRD".
