    Hi,
First-time toyota truck owner (2018 4dr 4wd SR5). I bought it certified pre-owned with 7k miles - now at 15k. At around 9k I had the transmission flash procedure done at the dealer. There's still a few things that bug me and I'm trying to figure out if it's correctable before I waste time dropping the truck off. my symptoms are probably just intermittent enough i'm sure the dealer will claim they can't replicate. I checked the fluid myself and it was full, nonetheless I replaced about 3 qts in the process. Welcome thoughts on below: Thanks!

    These events are intermittent:
1 - going down hill @40 if I brake to close to around 25 it'll downshift to a gear and sit around 2k rpms unless I'm back on the gas long enough for it to upshift.
2- driving about 10mpgh on slight downhill then braking to a stop causes a hard 2-1 shift just before stop.

    These events are regular occurrences:
1-gas pedal is difficult to press after coasting without a slight jerk. Almost like taking your foot off the pedal and then back on with a stick shift. I have to be real easy getting on the gas to avoid the lurch.
2-when accelerating from @ 45 in 6th gear you can feel a light shudder in the transmission as it picks up speed. Goes away if you press gas hard enough to downshift.

I have experienced everything except the shudder you speak of. Sounds like the engine is lugging to me, which is a symptom of the tune.

For the rough downshift, I noticed that if I grease my driveshaft at the recommend intervals, it doesnt happen. Also, the dealership did the service on my truck for the 50k miles and didnt once grease the driveshaft

The shudder bothers me the most as I run 1100 - 1500 rpm a lot on 45 - 55 mph roads. I tried a tank of 93 octane and the shudder almost instantly quit. Honestly- felt like a better engine at all ranges. I guess I've proven the shudder is in the timing and pre detonation vice and torque converter slip. Even got 1 mpg better across the tank. so 23.03 mpg. 2019 18k miles
    anyone else notice this?
