If you find the overlays, you won't be disappointed. You cannot tell they are not factory emblems.

I personally think the overlays look good. But I worry about their long term durability since it's just thin plastic. I also emailed to see if I could get just the Tacoma badges since I wasn't interested in getting all the others for $100 which I wasn't going to spend. They said since it's one mold, they don't separate. I'm going to hold out and see if there is an oem option soon.

I just can't get past the overlays not having the cut outs for the holes in the letters.

Mine have the cutouts just like the factory ones.

not very good pics, but my dealer had a bunch. Not sure if they are oem, but they are 3/16 inch thick and were $100. I have an eye for cheap, and these aren't cheap.....Over priced....definitely, but the "sea of white" needed some contrast....

I've considered that, but haven't figured out how to get the 3m tape back on the letters in a neat way.

Just take a razor knife and open up the "A"

This stuff works well. Unfortunately you have to buy a 10 pack, but it’s the cleanest, easiest way I’ve found to put emblems back on. You could buy a roll of wide tape, put it on and trim it too.

Alternatively, you could buy new chrome emblems with the tape on them and paint those. I don’t know how much you wanna invest in this project though.

Thank you. I will look into that. How did you prep your badge before painting, or did the paint stick to the chrome ok?

I wet sanded it with 600 grit paper just to try and dull it. It didn’t really seem to do much to it, but I thought it was a good idea. Then I did two light coats with a third heavier one.

I think he might have been talking about using the knife to cut the tiny sections out of the letter A in the overlays.
