Yeah you are correct, I was thinking as installing a regular handle needing both spots.

I use the steering wheel as a grab handle. Guess that is too weird.

Before any pillar mods, you ought to ascertain the curtain and steering wheel airbag path...

What are the specs on the hardware you used to mount the Racetech doorpull? And are you interfering with the airbag at all? (I want one for my 2018 Taco) Thanks

The 3" lift pro comp, bushwacker fender flares, window deflectors, bug guard shield, roof rack, dual exhaust, bull bar with KC lights. May add tool box and tonneau cover.
For me there has to be a match. That is, what is on the passenger side needs to be the same on the drivers side. They have a kit for the Tundra from https://www.sparksparts.com/ but not the Tacoma. Here is a video installing it in Tundra https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbgTSvIjMXE&t=6s Here there are two places to mount the grab handle. You just need to remove a plastic cap on the lower end and add an 1 - extruded U-Type nut ¼”x20 in size. Just have to wait and see if Spark Parts comes out with the kit for the Tacoma. Anybody remove the cover from the A-Pillar and see if it is the same as the Tundra? Anybody know if the 2015 Tacoma grab bar handle will fit on a 2018 Tacoma? Thought I ask before I actually check.

Not sure, don't think anyone has tried. No one wants to spend money to experiment. Maybe I can talk one my friends that has a 15 to remove his and I will remove mine from my 17.

JaCado let me know if you do the switch. I may just go to the dealer and order the A-pillar grab handle for the 2015 Tacoma and see for myself if it will work. Then if the color doesn't match I can just go here https://www.colorbondpaint.com/ and paint it. I will have to get some hardware too for mounting. Maybe,
    • 1 - 1.5” long 1/4”x20 hex bolt
    • 1 - ¼” flat washer
    • 1 - extruded U-Type nut ¼”x20 in size
