parallel parking is fun. I actually love it. Especially in downtown Indy....hahahaha.

I guess I thought parking spots in the public had a standard width, and I thought I'd noticed they'd gotten wider.

Ford has park assist on most models now .

It's actually a pretty lazy feature, but it's fun watching my moms Explorer park itself. A self parallel parking Ranger would be an asset in the city.

I'm seriously gonna parallel park at home tonight....I kinda miss it, since moving out to the sticks.

I had a '96 SuperCab 4.0 4x4 for a few years, and it was a solid truck. I see the global Rangers around here occasionally (SE MI) so I know the mess with them at the proving grounds, so it's not a surprise they are looking at building them here (Wayne plant). I also saw an article today that they are considering building the Bronco again- with the hole left by the departing FJ and Xterra, they could do well with a real SUV.

+1 Ann arbor parking sucks! Especially around downtown/near campus, you can forgot parking a full sizer in that area.

Lots of motivation for people who felt let down with the Tacoma to wait. Possible entries in the market from VW, Hyundai too. Not to mention the Frontier being overdue as well as a new Ridgeline.

I had a Ranger for a while. Maybe a few weeks than sold it. Had the gutless 3.0 in it. Everything about it felt cheap. Of course, it is not fair to say a new Ranger would be like that. Toyota just has more at stake to build a better quality mid-size since the Tacoma is their best-selling truck. A Ranger to Ford is just an afterthought. The F-series is where they make their bucks and they want to hold on to that best-selling title.

I think the only true "truck" out of those is the Nissan, right? And by "true truck" I mean, built on a truck frame...not a unibody.

3.0 L was not only old but gutless as well. I had the 4.0 L and it was "sufficient" so I always thought it must suck to have a 3.0 L.

Ford isn't terribly please about losing the overall (midsize plus fullsize) truck crown to GM. You can bet part of the motivation to look at the Ranger returning is Ford gunning for number one overall again.

VW makes a body on frame IIRC as well but it's reliability seems pretty suspect. Lots of articles on the weak front end on the Amarok for any truck duties.

The Hyundai is really interesting because I think there is a market for a small AWD with a box. Something cheap for a young couple to go on logging roads to camp on the odd weekend yet still get 35 mpg for commuting.

I doubt they will. Lots of rumors that the next jeep is a unibody. Can't wait to see the reactions to that if it comes true lol.

Competition is good. Might force Toyota to consider putting more effort into the Tacoma. Even when Chrysler and Ford were in the small pickup segment they made inferior products to that of Toyota. They offered V8's to try and steal some sales from Toyota but those trucks still sucked.

I agree with you on this one. The market needs a 2015 version of the Subaru Brat. Unfortunately Subaru failed miserably with the 4 seater baja and its 3' box lol. As a single, childless adult I would highly consider a 35MPG unibody 2 seater with a 5' box over my AC 4 banger I used to drive.

All I want out of a mid sizer is to get decent (I realize it's not a Prius) MPG for daily driving and can be able to pull my 3,000 lb trailer without sweating too much.

I scrapped around in an '82 Ranger around ages 14-17. I'd certainly get back into a Blue Oval product if it was efficient and had nice towing & payload capacity. What's more exciting is the possibility of a Bronco to be built along with it!

The 2016 Ford Bronco SVT Raptor looks sick. Talk about power, I'm sure it won't be cheap
