Anyone ever dissect the OR grill emblem to put a vinyl overlay over the chrome and behind the clear plastic? Not sure if that would mess with tss but I kinda wish I could cover that up and was curious

Did this today. Ordered the SR grille bezel for about $103, with free shipping, and it got here in two days. Took 20 minutes to pull off the grille and pop the new bezel in. Much happier with this since my truck has the blackout package and that was the only chrome left. Thanks for all the tips in this thread!

Nice. That’s what I want to do to my 2018 inferno_Only piece left that’s chrome. How difficult was it? I’m not that handy so just wondering. Lol

Not difficult at all! Use a 10mm to get two bolts off, use a flathead screwdriver to pop two fasteners, unplug the TSS system, carefully remove the grille, then pop the chrome tabs and remove like 8 Phillips head screws. The new one pops in with its own tabs, put the screws back in, then put the grille back in and put all the bolts and fasteners back in place. Took 20 minutes.

There’s so many videos on YouTube that make it easy for you to plan what you’re doing/look at it while you’re working on the grille. From a 1-10 difficulty, I’d honestly say 1. Super simple.

Does anybody know if the one from a 4 banger will fit a V6? There are no differences in the front end between two engine configs right?

Be careful with the tabs. They break reaaaaal easily. I didn’t need my chrome one so I just broke them all to make it easy and then threw it out lol.

So I Plasti-dipped my surround black a few months ago. The thinking was if I hated it I could peel it back to chrome. Well... I LOVE the look, and true to Plasti-dip form there are already a couple chips from large bugs. So eventually I'll have to peel and paint. My question is this:
What kind paint are you guys using for the most uniform look? I was also thinking of going with bedliner spray for a more rugged, textured look. Has anyone gone with bedliner spray?

I would say just purchase the SR grill surround. It’s around $100 shipped and then you won’t have to worry about any paint/plastiderp.

And don’t take my word for it, but I think spraying the bed with it already having composite material might not be the best idea. Maybe the OEM bed mat or a bed rug is a better option?

Thanks! Yeah but 100 bucks for the SR part ehhhhhhhhh..... I dunno man. Guess I'll stick to trawling the BST pages until some SR owner inevitably upgrades their grille.

I was thinking of painting the chrome ring with bedliner. Thought it might look cooler than just a flat black. But an OEM bed mat is definitely on my wish list. But once again 100 bucks ehhhhhhhhh.....

I took off the chrome, sanded it lightly, cleaned off, primer, and paint. Not sure how well it will hold up over time, but it was fairly quick and cheap to do and I'm not super picky. I used rustoleum primer and paint.

I did the same on my chrome emblems. I had those on my Civic for a good ~2.5 year. After being outside under the sun, rain, car wash and snow, the paint started to fade. I put them on in early 2013, and mid-late 2015, all the paints were gone, the chrome exposed.
