I just bought my 2018 two days ago and so far the tuck has beeped at me and flashed stop when nothing is in front of me. Any ideas what the issue is before I take it back to Toyota?

You can only adjust the warnings not the actual system sensitivity.

Is this just about the 'brake now' warning? I've been driving mine two weeks and only had it happen once when I was trying to get it to happen. The car won't actually brake on it's own but may assist with extra brake power if you slam on your brakes..

Yep it just beeps and says brake now. Strange really! I feel like it’s picking up the storm drains thinking it’s debris. I’m taking it to the dealer tonight

It will brake to avoid a high speed collision. It won't brake at slow speeds however. You'll want to understand how it works. There's videos on it.

Shouldn't give false readings. Your truck has a black box and a camera similar to what commercial airlines have always had. I'd document your mileage, time of day etc When you get false readings. If it becomes a buy back issue, they'll be looking at all that stuff.

I’m taking it back to the dealer tonight, guy I spoke with said he’s never heard of that happening before. Hopefully they don’t have it for too long!

I have several open RO's open at my dealer for this issue. It's not throwing any codes that the dealer can find, Toyota pulled the black box and said there was no reason for the truck to be faulting like it is. My arbitration hearing for Lemon Law is on the 10th of July.

The other night I was test driving my new suspension and alignment. On a really tight brushy country road I came in to a hard corner really fast trying to get a feel for how the suspension would load up into corners. A recommended 25mph corner I was coming in at probly close to 60mph and went to hit the brakes and the truck started beeping and completely locked them up (locking up meaning abs engaged and obviously braking as hard as it could). Scared the crap out of me! Is this what that is cuz if so that is not cool. Yes I was coming into the corner way faster than I ever would normally driving and probly way faster than I should have been so I'm thinking since it was such a tight road and the front end of the truck was aiming at an embankment going that fast maybe it thought it was a potential collision. I dont know but I really dont care whatever happened was not cool and I hope they stop putting that type of technology in vehicles.

That can be turned off. It's there for a reason. Just toggle the buttons on the steering wheel

Sorry really can't blame the truck for poor driving habits, especially if you lifted your truck.:crapstorm:

If you even remotely pretended to read my post it was obviously not poor driving habits. I was on a test drive to see how the suspension would react to a situation like that, In fact i believe everyone should try something like this so they how their truck is going to react if a situation like this ever happens in real life. Now I know, my truck is going to do whatever it thinks it needs to instead of letting the driver control the situation.

It's called PCS and can be turned off. The truck is going to do whatever its told when things are turned on. When off road its probably a good idea to turn that off. Its located with the LDA with the buttons on the steering wheel & the sensitivity can be turned down also

I'm with you. Truck lifted, TSS not calibrated, 60 in a 25. I'm not blaming the truck on this one.

I'm not saying the truck did anything wrong I'm sure it was designed to do exactly that but I dont think it is a smart thing to be putting in vehicles. It takes control away from the driver and puts your safety in the hands of technology and there are just to many variables to go wrong. For all I know say an avoidable object on the highway set it off, If it applied the brakes the same way it did the other night there is absolutely no way the driver behind you would be able to react that fast and it would just make the situation worse. It's a cool idea if your driving on the highway all the time but my suggestion, put your phone down and pay attention to the road and maybe you wouldnt need technology to save your butt. Knowing the limitations of your vehicle in panick braking situations as well as knowing how fast you can maneuver while keeping control is much more important than relying on technology to drive for you.
