Until my rear main seals went towards 300k oil usage was average.

It wasn't the usage, just that it took like 6-7 quarts per oil change. Huge oil pan I guess, but that was the only thing I ever noticed was that I had to pay for more oil on a normal oil change. It did not use oil at all... just took a lot each oil change.
