I"m about to trade in my 2016 for a 2019 trd sport upgrade
but it looks like it doesn't have tpms!!1

    is this correct?
is it just a case of no sensors in the rims?
if i put tmps sensors in my new rims will i get tpms info on my screen?

According to the Toyota Canada website - you are correct. The 2019 DC Sport does not have TPMS.

TPMS was never a requirement in Canada, it’s only a legal requirement in the US. Lots of manufacturers are starting to pull it on Canadian vehicles to save a little cash and the wasted warranty time at the dealer when idiots come in with a light and no idea how to fill a tire.

I think it's the manual transmission trucks here that don't have the TPMS. My 17 Sport manual doesn't have it. I've seen even the TRD Pro with MT doesn't have the TMPS.

According to the Toyota website, the Tacoma TRD Sport Upgrade package has no TPMS. This is the Double Cab with 6 foot bed, automatic only.

As already mentioned in this thread before - manual transmissions do not have TPMS, auto's do have TPMS. This goes all the way up to and including the TRD Pro....

Weird thing my 2010 4x4 2.7l SR5 manual had it but my new 2018 TRD Offroad manual doesn't.

And yes, as mentioned before it's not a legal requirement in Canada to have it - in USA it is.

Yeah I saw this on the Canadian Toyota website too. That is one of a few errors on the build page for the TRD Sport Upgrade (compare popup). The builder also said that Sport Upgrade does NOT have LED DRLs, 17" rims and power rear slider when it in fact does.

No TPMS for me, which is exactly how I like it. But does that mean I can't easily export my Taco to the USA for sale?

My Canadian 2019 MT TRD Sport does not have TPMS, but I did remove the drivers dash panel below the steering wheel to be able to remove the centre dash and noticed that there is a wiring harness that plugs into a blank plug were the TPMS reset button is installed. There is no button installed, in this location, but all of the wiring harness is there. It would be interesting to see if installing a TPMS reset switch magically enabled the TPMS.
