Exactly, and the worst color for a car in yellow. Actually, purple would be worse but I think that color is outlawed worldwide for factory autos.

This shit again! Well at least the Ridgeline has rear disc brakes to stop Ashely's basic life from smashing into the back of the panera bread eaten Subaru driver in the starbucks drive thru as she's on PSL number 2 for the day.

    ...stuff
I drove a 2006 Nissan Frontier Nismo Off-road 4x4. It was the equivalent of the TRD OR, and shared a lot of the same features and what not. (Bilstein shocks stock, rear locker, 4.0L V6, etc...)

This truck has a bad design flaw that showed up on mine. Transmission fluid on the truck would go through the radiator as a warmer and then through the transmission cooler. It was a strange system but it was what it was. The design flaw was the breakdown of the material in the radiator separating the transmission fluid and radiator fluid. They would mix, and you would get a pink frothy mess in the radiator and transmission. Someone figured out a bypass, but my truck wasn’t included in he affected vehicles so I didn’t do it. Well eventually it happened to me. The affected vehicles kept growing to different years and trim levels.

I bring vehicle in to dealer to get cat replaced for smog check. I have a code reader, I knew it was. They fix it. I drive home. Next day the RPMs shoot up to 6k and drives sluggish. I bring it back to dealer to fix, assuming they screwed something up. I wait 4 hours, they haven’t touched it yet because the mechanic that worked on my truck was off that day. I demand they make someone else do it. The come back and say I need a new transmission control module. $3800. Pissed, I tell them to fix it.
When they are done, I get the work order and pay, and as I’m about to walk out, I notice a radiator flush on the bill. Why did they do that for a transmission repair? I ask, mechanic comes out and explains I had the strawberry milkshake. They weren’t even going to tell me about it.
I had tranny fluid in my radiator and water in my tranny but they wouldn’t have said anything if I didn’t notice Nissan refuses to accept it as a problem and refuses to help cover repairs. Control module was 3800 and new tranny is 6000 that would’ve fallen on me. I was so mad I literally drove it across the street and traded it for a Toyota on the spot.
Also, my rear locker failed and it took them 6 weeks to figure out and repair the issue.

I will never drive another Nissan nor will I deal with them.

My "weekend vehicle" is a GT350.... I suppose if I drove a R****line, my weekender would have to be a Miata.

    Sorry to hear about that.

Next time pay with American Express then charge it back if they screw you. You’ll always get your money back, every single time with Amex.

I’ve charged back a $1600 repair job before. The shop called me the next day and said I should have worked it out with them. I asked why, the shop said that Amex always gets their money, always and now they’ll be out $1600. Actually more because they pay additional fees on charge backs.

On another note, there’s a reason shitty businesses don’t take American Express as a form of payment and it’s not just because of the higher retail processing fees.

I dig the new Ridgelines. Don't know if this new styling is as popular as the previous gen as I dont see as many on the roads but they're definitely nice vehicles. It is a nice purposefully built vehicle for those who don't need all the offroad capabilities but want a bed. The last vehicle I remember being that way was the Subaru Baja.

Now that’s ugly, especially for a factory vehicle. Which I’m pretty sure inspired this aftermarket catastrophe.

I got both. Ok maybe the Ridgeline is my parents. It’s a very capable truck and I wish my Tacoma had some of its features.

    Like, so many.
Sorry you had such a bad experience. I had older Fronty before I got my Taco. It was pretty good. Reliable. They are certainly in need of an update.

I posted this before and I will again. The Ridgeline is a great truck if you don’t haul heavy loads or off-road. Which is probably over 90% of TW users. For daily use it’s probably a better truck then the Tacoma. The only real negative is it’s ugly! But it rides better, has better storage and gets better gas mileage.

My parents tow a small trailer all around the Western US with it and love it. They fit a Honda generator, a heater and more in the storage under the bed. Totally out of sight and locked up. The last truck they had it was either in the trailer or the bed of the truck in plain sight. Lots of great features on the Ridgeline like the side mirror camera which turns on when signaling a right turn.

I like your Tacoma, but for that SUT, not a fan. I worked on many over the years as a mechanic, but I would take a Toyota vehicle over a Honda any day. The Ridgeline is categorized by some as a lifestyle pickup.

I prefer the old body design to the new " we slapped an accord front end onto it " look. I looked at them when looking for a new vehicle , but I wanted a true 4x4 and a frame.
