A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I agree -- I store my rubber bungees and cheap tiedowns in my TWO Big cubby holes on my SR5. They ARE NOT useless!

I loved those boxes on my 2006, even the smaller ones above the wheel wells were handy.

This is what I would do if mine didn't have it. I use mine to keep bungie's, rope, etc.

Does anyone here have the part number? I am going to retrofit this to my '19 to install OBA. Thanks in advance.

I’d look for a used pull (Junkyard/Fleabay), but here are the parts...

    The box itself is: 64742-04010
    The door is: 64074-04011
The bolts are: 90148-A0006 (you need 6)
I’m not sure what the clips (u-nuts) are, but I have previously found the M6 match.

Has anyone cut the box into their 19 yet?

I'm face palming that they deleted the driver side storage option... wouldn't it cost MORE money to change the design, re-tool, and remold a new bed liner for Toyota?

Dang. So glad I bought an 18 from the back of the lot instead of a 19 now. Power locking tailgate and the cubby. My ratchet straps go in the left box, my bungees go in the right. It's so much easier than walking around to the cab and getting the dogs to move over so I can flip up a seat.

They did not retool, they saved money by eliminating the need to cut the hole and supply the box, door, and hardware.

The profit margin on these trucks cannot be so slim that Toyota has to remove such a small feature to make it solvent. I mean, it’s a plastic cutout!

I guess that was the question: whether they mold in that hole, or if it is a secondary removal step.

What angle is this, from underneath?

I sees there's an opportunity for custom storage for the next 8 years for Tacoma. :militarypress:

looking straight up. The blue rectangle is the rear 2x6 cutout in the bed. Those wires on teh bottom go up to the tail light.
