Well you guys have like 31 cup holders... what's there to bitch about?

Seems some of those cup holders definately need to be for sippy cups. And maybe a lot of the time the sippy cup holder needs to be for the driver.

My 2017 AT OR shifts fine, it did take some time for it to settle in, and again (but better still) after the AT hunting shift TSB a while back. Give it more time to get settled in, and if you are still disappointed in how it goes, well...

Nothing as interesting as the multiple TSBs, recalls, cup holders, and general whining and complaining that goes on in the 3rd gen section.

I just wanted to see how the elite of TW are faring tonight.

    Seems it's business as usual.

Ehem...SOME 3rd Gen owners are picky bitches. There’s quite a few of us who don’t bitch.

I don’t see what the fuss is about. My Tacoma drives like the 4,400-lb pickup truck that it is. And it’s pretty civil at that.

When I want something sportier, I get in my 2,400-lb Fiat Spider.

OVTune makes these trucks perform much better. Best mod I did to mine.

Yeah.....that’s why the 3rd Gen Taco is the most popular and successful truck Toyota has ever produced. I’m not making this up, as you well know.

I guess people, literally by the 10s of thousands are just total fucking idiots.....but not you.....No!..... you are a genius.....a genius who knows trucks better than Toyota themselves!!!

    Whatever......

And seemingly pretty moderately priced too. I keep hearing this so it is keeping me interested in the gen-3. I have until this Fall before I would be ready to buy anyway so I will keep plugging away at test driving, research etc.

I can't expect this truck even with the OVtune to live up to my monster but I will be happy if it is totally usable via the tune.

Thats typical response from someone who doesnt actually who doesnt actually own one or probably never driven one. It wasnt that long ago there were people on here ranting and raving about problems with the 2nd generations. And if u go the the 4runner forums you will find people complaining about those as well.

The tranny sucks on these trucks sadly especially at elevation. I liked my 2017 Tacoma but not worth paying big bucks for a truck that feels like crap every time you drive it. Get used to it rev’ing high in RPMS for no reason and not knowing when to downshift. I traded it in for a first gen tundra and it’s a way better truck in almost every way. After having the Tacoma for a year and a half I almost forgot what a smooth shifting driving truck is supposed to feel like.

I gotta agree though. It’s an awesome truck but the transmission really does suck and it’s a shame. Every vehicle has its issues but the transmission is a bone headed move.

I dont no what to say. My 2019 trsnsmission doesnt act like that. If u go to carcomplaints.com you can see transmissions were the biggest complaint on the on the 2016s and 2017s but greatly reduced on the 18s and 19s.
