2020 LED Amber DRL

Does it affect the parking/tail circuit, or just disconnect the input?

 

It's a test. So you can visualize the effect. Replace the fuse after.

 

Do you happen to have a pic of the drl relay bypassed?

Dude, one thing at a time. The turn signal is a pulse, the ic board does the sequential thing. Have you observed the DRL when selecting the hazard switch?

 

Yeah, it also does the sequential when unlocking the car. Is there schematics for the turn signal board?

I want to do what you did here. I want the DRL’s/turn signals to be Amber and then white with the low beams? How would I achieve this?

 

Did anyone ever try this? I’m interested in giving it a shot.

 

MESO is so coy on this mod.

I just bench tested. Constant 12v to the turn lead fires reverse sequential once.

I was able to create a decent solid amber light by quickly touching and un touching the terminal, simulating a high frequency flash.

So I assume if it were possible to have two inputs to a flash module for very fast and normal, feed DRL to the very fast and have the normal win if both detected, that could work.

@kmorgan3 has a test headlight but we can’t figure out anything reasonable and repeatable.

 

Call me crazy but I thought I saw that he replaced the LEDs with amber LEDs on the factory board.

 

That's the brute force plan and it can definitely work with comparable emitters. It doesn't scale very well. Definitely not something I'd sign myself up for.

Generally speaking it'd be:

1. Ship or buy and send direct to no vtec Kevin
2. Kevin cracks and does his magic, sends cracked open to someone else
3. Someone de-solders and re-solders amber emitters to replace the white (presumably parking light is now amber)
4. Send back to no vtec Kevin
5. Kevin seals up and ships to the customer

Feels like 2500-3000 ballpark to me after all that shipping and labor, yeah? Not really viable.

Yeah, he just swapped the LEDs. I don't think it is doable via a harness. Like @daveeasa said, it just does a single amber pulse.

So crack it open and get soldering
