2020 tacoma 4cyl. Chugging sound at idle.

    2020 tacoma access cab
    None yet
    Truck has about 1600 miles on it and while idling, it makes a chugging sound when warmed up on the drivers side almost like a compressor compressing air without the motor sound, if that makes sense. Is this normal? First time tacoma owner. I've heard these trucks are famous for exhaust leak .

    Toyota engines are known to be noisy. I never heard a toyota engine that was quiet, all made interesting noises.

    I would not worry about it, unless it runs poorly, burns oil or CEL is on.

    I know what you are talking about,my V6 does it.I've noticed it in various vehicles I've had over the years.I think it is a normal intake sound.
