So ya, I bought my Tacoma new like 1 month ago, from my research the 2018-2020 came standard with a transmission cooler. Well surprise my dumba** just assumed it was there. Well nope. I went down to the dealer to try and figure out tf was going on. Well
Supposedly in March ish they started to only put them on the trds
So ya, I talked to their Tacoma master tech and they said it wouldn’t void my warranty as long as the trans cooler
Wasn’t leaking or something (still feel
    Weary about this)
I’m trying to find out what exactly I need, as much as I want to cut the transmission lines going to the radiator and adding a tee there to bring some limes to the front for a aftermarket cooler. I want it to be clean and simple so to say if there were an “incident” with the transmission I could easily just take it off and act like it was
    Never there.
what have y’all done to add one? I’ve search on here and couldn’t really find much, but what Tees were used? What brand? Etc

Same here, but when I contacted Toyota they said any issues won’t be warrantable. I am just going to drive it As is till close to the warranty expiring - then sell it. I for one don’t believe that Toyota has come up with a magic trans fluid that can eliminate the need for a cooler, when NOBODY else has. Hell even the Honda Ridgeline comes with a trans cooler.

It's not that there is no Transmission cooler (It is imbedded in the radiator), it is that there is no auxiliary external transmission radiator. I have thought the same, however, I have not had any overheating issues with the current setup to date, but I have not been in a situation where I am crawling at low speed for extended periods of time, nor pulling any type of trailer. On my list is an OBDII scan tool, which will allow me to monitor the actual transmission temp, from there I will decide whether or not to add an external cooling radiator. The OBDII scanner will also be helpful when checking the transmission fluid level, and a lot more accurate than a hand held digital thermometer.

I'm new to Tacomas, however mentioning that I have a Derale Performance transmission cooler in an older Jeep (think Chrysler transmission). It automatically turns on, and runs often on trails to just driving in the summer. I've been pleased with it.

I use the Scanguage II. I have never seen the transmission (pan or torque converter, they both have probes) go above 212 degrees or so. And that’s with the external transmission cooler. This happens when driving in the mountains in 3rd and 4th gear trying to keep up with the traffic...lol. Anyway just for comparison when you get your hooked up.

Normal around town driving it sits at about 188 or so.

Why is that ? Would one help or does it not work mechanically? When I’m bogging in the swamp in humid weather sometimes I wish there was something to keep the tranny / clutch cooler.

Coolers for your manual transmission ?
Yes there is such a thing . I have used a few over the years in high horsepower applications .
    Here is an example https://www.driftmotion.com/Driftmotion-Manual-Transmission-Oil-Cooler-Kit-p/dm3561.htm

I went through one clutch already and just went stage 2. Now I’m always spooked I’m going to burn this one. Given I was an absolute idiot with the first clutch and drag raced it like a S2k and was learning how to offroad with a clutch on 35s with 4.30 gearing. I have like 10k on the urd ive smelt it 3 times. Just want to get maximum life out of it but it seems the only remedy is just drive it better!

Honestly the MT does not get super hot. There is nothing to worry about there, unless you are slipping the clutch and no cooler will help you.;)

Heavy spring rates on the plate of pressure all but eliminate friction disc overtemp.

That, and an engine with generous torque off idle.
