At least they are working with you and may fully reimburse you... thanks for the info and good luck.

Dear Toyota engineers: If it ain't broke then don't fix it.

    Confirmed with my guy too:

"Toyota has finally come up with their solution for the roof rack clearance problem, but to make the rack work they changed the actual roof panels on the latest
Tacoma pickups (built after February 17th, 2020)
So that means there is no way for us to correct the issue with the roof rack cross bar clearance. I apologize for this, not the scenario usually presented by Toyota."

Aw well, at least I'm getting a refund.

Oh well. In my case I purchased them after buying the truck. I guess they'll keep being an ornament until I find a model that I like and fits my truck.

So, that leaves those of us with affected vehicles essentially screwed if we want a factory rack solution. All they need to do is redesign the rack or redesign the shark fin. Again, what a cluster f*ck.

How many 2020 trucks rolled off the assembly lines before February 17th? A lot. I'm going to open a case with Corporate about this. Perhaps if enough customers complain they'll actually do something about the situation, but I won't be holding my breath.

20 years from now people will be looking to buy these and the sellers will have no idea on the production date. What a kerfuffle. Unfortunately.... I have one

At least I didn't want roof racks. Hope the next owner doesn't either.

Mine was built ON February 17th. :( Oh, wait!! It was supposed to be built on the 22d so I can't be unhappy that it was built early...and I probably would not put a rack on anyway.

All due to the shark fin trend. I had an 06 and I never had a problem with the regular antenna.

This is due more to the sloppy engineering trend. The shark fin wasn't a problem for four out of five 3rd gen production years.

I used the online form and got a reply from Toyota basically telling me that I had to call in. I explained that if trucks after Feb 17th were fixed by re-positioning the antenna, the rest of us were left without a fix. Since my situation is different (I bought the rack online after purchasing the truck) and I'm probably screwed. He told me that I had to take it to the dealer to voice my concern and get it looked at. I guess until an official TSB is out for this, if there ever is one, they're just trying to seep it under the rug. The description for part # PT278-35170 says 2017 to 2019 anyway. So, in my case it was kind of a gamble (wouldn't have guessed they moved the darn antenna). I do not intend to get a refund for my rack, my main concern is that I have no option to get an OEM rack at all if their fix was just relocation. I'm guessing this is going to take a lot of people banding together to get something going.

I'm getting a refund + molding and going to buy a prinsu rack. (10% off on 3/17!) Less ideal but I just want to have fun with the truck.

Took money away from other planned upgrades (power locking tailgate and new wheels) but I'd rather have a roof rack that works.

I like the Prinsu racks, but I've heard that they are noisy. The reason I prefer the OEM one is because it can be retracted when not in use to avoid wind noise.

for sure. OTOH, I can count on one hand the number of times I go over 45 in a week. Lots of hilly Seattle driving with very little open road unless I'm headed to the mountains... (when the rack would be deployed loaded anyway)

This is less than ideal, but considering the world appears to be melting down around us, I'll survive this thing.

For those who do have a functional OEM rack, do you have issues with it cutting off your Sirius signal? I noticed I'm having that issue after Installing mine the other day.

Just confirmed that my roof rack does indeed hit the shark fin and push it down. My truck was delivered on 2/14 so probably built around first of February.

I will be heading to my dealer soon!

Anyone have measurements from a 2019 and a post 2/17/20 build I’m curious? I got my 2020 in Jan, so clearly I’m screwed either way. Does another company make a Rack simalar to the factory rack with the storable cross bars that will fit?
