Has anybody been able to readjust the camera settings? I took a picture of what it looks within a parking spot. You can see the lines don’t match up with the side cameras.

    Hello Tacomaworld,

Long time lurker, moved to come out of the shadows by my desire to mount a TRD pro grill to my 2020 TRD OR. Thank you all for the many questions you've answered for me, over the years.

I was careless when I bought my new truck, a 2020 TRD OR DCLB, and got one with the technology package but not the premium technology package. So I don't have the cool MTM system, but I do have BSM and lane departure.

Finally, here are my dumb questions: Am I safe in assuming I still have a camera in my grill, even though I don't have MTM? Assuming yes, do I need to take the same approach for putting a pro grill on my truck as for one that does have the MTM system?

I assume there is a camera, for the lane monitoring system and all that. But there's this saying about assuming stuff.

My plan is to order up the TRD grill, oem garnish, and the oem wiring harness for the camera. Then I'll mount my existing camera in one of Grant's dope brackets.

Off topic, I wonder what it'd take to get MTM into my truck? It sure looks cool.

    Thanks again!

Hey there, welcome to Tacomaworld. From what I can see and what you've described, you do not have the 360 surround view camera system or MTM. there would be a camera just below the emblem sticking out of the grille. There is a separate camera for the lane departure warning, that's buried behind your rearview mirror facing forward thru the windscreen, that's not viewable thru the screen in the cab. Im new to the blog and Tacomas as well, so take this with a grain of salt, but id look for a replica pro grille (lots of companies produce them) varying degrees of quality as well, so id do some research on them. I would also suggest starting with an aftermarket garnish (lots of options on Amazon) , as Toyota wants $300-$600 for that little piece of acrylic. As far as adding the MTM or surround view system, I don't know that you'll be able to do that without changing out the head unit (the radio unit in the dash). People are adding something called an "anytime camera" aftermarket system, I think there's probably a post about it in this thread.

Thank you! Although I'm sorry I didn't get MTM on the truck, it sounds like it makes this switch easier. I'm with you on the cost of the garnish. Can't believe that!

Recently ordered my TRD Pro grill from sparks parts. How long did it take for the grill to come in? Asking the people that ordered their grill from that site.

To the people who went from 2020 off-road front camera to 2020 Pro OEM grille and Pro OEM camera, did you have any problems with front view splicing into the side views when looking at birds eye view?

Yep…I CAD’ed up and 3D printed a nylon bracket assembly that was adjustable for lateral movement, tilt, and camera distance so that it would fit tightly in the factory camera opening of the Pro grille. Notice the little hash mark I scribed on the camera bezel indicating the “UP” position since my design required the camera to get trapped inside the front nacelle of my bracket with an epoxy plug. The ridge around the nose of camera aperture of my bracket is what you see sticking through the factory grill. Its kind of a Rube Goldberg job, but to me its a cleaner solution that drilling out the hole in the OEM grill to 0.900 and just popping in the Natika camera using the panel mount clips that come with it. Plus that wouldnt prevent it from rotating.

Having a little adjustability in the bracket made for a better fit on my first attempt, since its kind of hard to measure the geometry of the factory grille by hand.

Short 10-32 machine screws seemed to work their way into the screw bosses with nice retention and without splitting them. I'm sure the factory screws are metric but its what I had on hand and patience isnt one of my virtues.

No idea....havent gotten a chance to wire up the Anytime camera relay and switch to the infotainment system. But at least I dont have to drive around with an unused hole in the grille.
