A loaded TRD OR / Sport is now at Pro territory ($44-46k). Premium package is pretty unchanged from 18-19 with exception of remote start, LED heads/fogs are $485 and the Adv Tech package is $770 I believe, there was a price increase on some of the packages, while a bare bones TRD only went up $200 from 2019, Toyota fluffed up the price and added some more package options to pad pricing / profits including the prem package.

Damn if I wanted a DCSB I would seriously consider a pro with those choice of options.

The 2020s are in short supply around here and supposedly no more 2020s coming or so I was told. Found a voodoo blue but really wanted another Cement. Last August I wanted a 2020 but couldn’t pass up the offer on a 2019 36,250 for a OR DCSB msrp about 42,000. With the carava hype had to see what the dealer would do on a trade. They offered 38,000 and I accepted MSRP on the 2021. They would not budge even a grand.

Ya, you didnt lose to bad, similar trade to me precovid, paid $36.5k for a $43k loaded 19 cement Sport, received $35k trade in for my 2020 TRD cement OR with a $44.8k MSRP but only paid $39k. Tax credit means my taxes were only on $290, lol. But as you alluded to its gonna be awhile before anyone gets precovid deals on desirable TRD ORs as inventory isnt just gonna meet demand suddenly or in the immediate future anytime soon.

The trail edition bed is now even smaller? Who at Toyota thought that would be a good thing?

The market has absolutely changed. But look at it this way. Those premium used truck deals do help balance paying MSRP for a new truck. So be sure and look at the total picture.

I just refuse to pay msrp. I’ve only done it once in my life. Never again.

I had told the wife that I was just going to sit back and wait, I was not paying MSRP or just the $1000 rebate off, the deal had to be around 8% or more off. So about 3-4 hours after I told her that, I got a call about a new Quicksand that just came back on the market and the price was right at about 8% off. Since I wanted Quicksand, I didn't try to get it lower, I just purchased it.
I was talking with about 6 different dealers around the country, and most thought I was nuts when I told them what I wanted to pay.

There are currently 3 different Factories building Tacoma's, highly doubt all 3 are closed till December.

I wanted a 2021 Green Pro, but dealers are telling me that it won't be available, just on a "Trail edition" which I have no knowledge of.

    This is true.

Army Green was an exclusive Pro only color for 2020. The other three colors are always white, black and magnetic gray. 2021 will replace Army Green with Lunar Rock Metallic.

Like previous years, the Army Green will be available on select non-Pro trims in 2021. You will be able to purchase Army Green in the "Trail" edition model, and it should also be available in TRD Offroad and TRD Sport trims.

Besides White and Black, MGM is also a Pro color.

    Probably not.

Toyota was able to produce a whole years worth of Tacomas in just one week.

    It’s true, trust me...

In 2020 there was a voodoo blue sr5 2.7 DCSB 2wd option on the configurator on toyota's website, but it isn't showing up as a color option in that configuration for the 2021. I also noticed there's no army green option for any sr5 option (besides the trail edition) although i had read that would be the case. Anyone have any insight on these changes?

2021 Tacoma now on the Toyota Canada website. Payloads have gone up around 100 pounds across all models.

The options they have in Canada are so weird. DCSB without any packages (I guess this is their version of the SR5) has the limited grill, chrome read bumper, but black over fenders and comes only in Cement or Army Green. If you want to get an Army Green OR you have to opt into for the premium but it doesn't have the LED headlights (only the Pros do). At least the do color matched bumpers on the OR. Also, Quicksand is gone but Voodoo Blue has stayed.
