Added the OEM harness & actuator, so that the tailgate locks with the doors. Posting to say that the install was super easy. t30 Torx, 10 mm socket, and whatever tool you are comfortable with prying the interior kick panels off with. The OEM harness is perfectly laid out for the install, the grommet for the floor is already installed in the correct spot, wrapped in heat shielding in the necessary location, etc. The rear connector on the harness actually clipped onto a factory "block", the same spot where the tailgate camera connector clips in place.

For $140 shipped from BAM Wholesale parts, it's well worth the upgrade.

Absolutely worth it. I installed the pop ‘n lock version and love it. No issues.

It was the first mod I installed after the pro grille. Zero complaints. Super easy install.

I recommend that over a lift any day. I wish I would have done more research but I was dead set on lifting it. Nothing against my icons but my biggest complaint is they aren’t adjustable. Anyway, the pop n lock should literally be the first mod anyone does lol.

Should be included with the truck to begin with.

Thanks for the reminder. I just ordered VLEDS footwell lights but this is more useful.

I have the pop and lock version and love it, only complaint being that it unlocks with the driver door.
I've been considering splicing it to the passenger door lock instead, just need to buy the length of cable for that.

Unfortunately (and fortunately, however you wanna look at it) the 4th gens have it. Which is great for them. Makes us 3rd genners wondering why it wasn’t apart of them right off the bat!!

The OEM one unlocks with the passenger. At least you have the capability!

I think you can adjust the OEM setup to unlock all doors (including the tailgate) with the driver’s door. It is a setting for the truck.

You’re probably right. I haven’t looked that far into it ha.

Hi there I have a 2022 off road long bed. Dealer is telling me it is not doable. Is that accurate?

Mine was factory(port?) installed and already stopped working at 32k miles...ugh...hopefully this isn't a sign of more electrical gremlins to come.

Totally worth it, I lost my key, and the pop and lock was a cheaper solution

From Toyota there are two kits for the tail gate lock; one is for the Double Cab SB/Access Cab LB and the other is for the Double Cab LB (your vehicle I presume). I hate being one of those people who says do a search for past threads, but this has been covered and I do not have the time. Perhaps someone else with a memory for where the threads are will chime in. It does take a lot of time searching for stuff on this forum.
