Aftermarket. I’m guessing the OEM sensors were retained and they put in some aftermarket sensors to either help sell or were used as a second set.

Well I installed them and got the TPMS's programed into the ECU. Everything is working as it should. I couldn't be happier. They are a lot quieter and smoother than I thought they would be. I also spent some time looking at them very closely while cleaning them up. They have not been broken down or rebalanced and are smother than than the Toyo's that I replaced. I am convinced that the TPMS's are OEM. I also looked closely at the ones that Toyota installed on the new rims of the truck that these came off of and they are identical.
    It is this one:

Yep, my 2018 Sport had them too. Up until 2021 I think all Tacoma TMPS's had metal stems. It appears that some 2021's also have metal stems. but not all of them do.

He bought Trd pro wheels, sold the OEM tires that came with them…and runs some weird tire pressure 36 having less rolling resistance up front and more traction for tires in the rear with 32.

Probably because he thinks it gets him better gas mileage.

You don't think the tire manufacturers figure that into their ratings? Most ratings on the tire specify "cold". What if you go with a different brand of tire with different weight and psi ratings? Now which is correct? Door jam or tire? Ford Explorer/Firestone comes to mind.

The door jamb is correct as long as the tires are the same size. What is written on the tire is max pressure, whether hot or cold not recommended running pressure.

Unless they come from Toyota they aren’t OEM and just because someone puts OEM on a title doesn’t mean they are. However it’s moot since you use them anyways but they don’t match any one else’s valve stems.
