Yes sir. No joy. Hoping a new cord will remedy the issue.

    Thanks @RIX TUX!

I do not get the option for Apple CarPlay as shown in the video. It says iPod connected and looking for music…then says none found and messaging stops. Bluetooth works fine and I can make calls and listen to Spotify with no issues.

It has to be the cord. At the moment, I don’t have an actual apple USB-A cord as they went to the USB-C to lightning. So…waiting on a cord…

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
As far as the apps screen on the I don't see the point of it. I called Toyota with questions when I brought the truck home and they said the only thing that can be installed is Amazon Music. LOL!

the only thing i use from my phone is the maps, i used apple maps first but the tried WAZE and its the best

only certain apps from my phone showed up for me on the radio, i use Sirius radio so just use the WAZE on road trips so the whole process of this no big factor at all

Well, I got the new cord and it does the same as the other two cords. I manually switched the stereo over to the USB and was able to use Spotify. So, it is running data through the cord. I’m starting to think CarPlay doesn’t exist on this vehicle…

I mentioned you have to turn CarPlay on in my first post (post 3). I didn’t provide exact instructions, which is to go the head unit settings, apps, then turn on “connect USB in enhanced mode.” Is that on?

I also have “auto detect iPhone app” turned on but I don’t think that matters for this.

Found that toggle. It was NOT turned on. However, still no joy.

There are no apps on the app page, and it seems there is no way to get apps installed…

Probably not helpful for you, but to confirm, I'm driving a 2022 TRD Sport (bought from a private owner not that that really matters) and have no issues connecting to CarPlay via any cheap cord from Amazon plugged into the port just above the phone charging pad forward of the cup holders. Additionally, bought a Bluetooth adaptor unit on the suggestion from a post on this site, pugged into same port and now run wireless CarPlay. Just ran through the menus on my OEM stereo looking for a model number so you could match it (apples to apples), but can't seem to find that option in "info" or "settings". The only problem I experience with CarPlay (this has nothing to do with your issue) is if I am listening to anything originating from my phone (corded or wireless), (spotify, podcast, apple music), and turn off the truck without first pausing or stopping the audio, it won't play when I later restart the vehicle no matter what buttons I push on the phone or stereo... I have to start the truck, completely break the CarPlay connection, and reconnect from scratch. If I pause the audio before turning off the truck, no issues on restart, plays like a charm. Or.... weirdly, I found a shortcut when I shut off the vehicle without pausing or stopping the audio and it won't play when I start it back up ... I vocally ask Siri "what time is it", Siri responds with the time and once complete, my music or podcast magically starts playing exactly where I left off... Shazam! Ghost in the machine. Fingers crossed you figure out your issue, friend... keep us posted, lifetime learner.

Try starting over by forgetting the phone.

My 22 had issues with Android Auto when I first got it and that did the trick.

I’d be interested to plug in an android and see if that works. Well, on the search for an android volunteer now…

I plugged in an android and the phone displayed this:

So, I’m guessing the head unit needs and update? Need a dealer visit for that?

You can update it yourself but I’d be surprised if the update does anything to enable CarPlay. Last time my 2021 head unit got an update was in early 2022 and that update didn’t do anything to change CarPlay in my experience.

I don't know if it matters as long as the radio is the same. But maybe they change every year?
