Hey guys looking for some real life Insight on a small lift that is geared more towards smooth and soft vs tall and stiff. I have a 22' TRD AC long bed and live in Colorado and want to explore the fire roads and a few mountain passes. I'm not looking to rock crawl! I am looking to travel Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. I do plan on doing full skids, sliders and a lo pro hidden winch bumper. If I can afford it I'll go aluminum to save weight. I don't want to run a full 33x tire, maybe a skinny 33 if they come in 10" wide. I'm not afraid of trimming or doing a BMC. Really my goal is to have a good over all off-road truck that I can spend a few days traveling in. RTT is on my list and perhaps a topper or bed rack to mount it. I know King will be said but not looking for that kind of suspension and being 75% wasted for my driving. Iv'e seen ironman pro foam too. I've heard the eibach pro kit rides good but it's not an adjustable coilover. Any personal Insight would be appreciated. FYI I have 16" wheels

What’s wrong with the suspension you have? I do everything you mentioned with the stock suspension with a 3 leaf AAL after putting the camper shell on. Full skids will be a total overkill for what you mentioned, I have sliders and a TRD skid plate with 255/85/16s (33x10) for better traction and added ground clearance.

I find it very stiff compared to my old 2010 4Runner limited, I was hoping to get close to the ride. I will look into the 255/85R16, no spacer needed for stock wheel? Thank you

I don’t have mine on stock wheels but they are said to fit. You’ll need to do some easy plastic trimming and get an alignment to push the caster up near 3° but that should be about it.

I am surprised how cushy my Bilstien 8112 + 650 springs with 8100 + Deaver Stage II leaf pack are. 5309F33A-BD24-403A-91A0-EFE8D0D93968.jpg

You'll never get close to it since you are comparing leaf springs vs coil springs in the rear. Your TRD off road has the softest suspension of all the Tacomas. Good luck.

So based on your comment, Fox and King are off the table due to cost or bc you don't think you need them? High performance suspension is not just for off-road use. The benefits cover just about any terrain and will outperform most. The custom tuning we offer will also help smooth things out with all those add-ons you have.

Great looking wheels! I don’t know what it is about those, but they look great. It’s a shame the 6 lug are damn near impossible to find… well that and I have SCS wheels now.

    Thanks a bunch!
These are 17" forged Toyota Rock Warriors a customer special ordered with his a 2014 4Runner Pro. They are 27/lbs each!
The 5 lug 17" Tundra is much more common as there is the Rock Warrior Package.

    eibach + toytec = :mudding:

You gotta go toytec man - u save on shipping cause you can opt for local pickup. I got the eibach 620 springs on billys from them. Been great! Also, increasing the tire size is a great lift in itself. Atm, im 265/70/17 with my 2.5/3' lift & toytec aal.

I do plan to go 285/70/17, but not till these tires run out & once getting the pinch weld & cmc beforehand. I highly recommend you get these done before 285s

I'd like to see your truck in person sometime, very interested in the 33x10's. I live in the northeast springs area.

I'm located in Golden, CO and I can do a side job if you need someone to install your lift. Here is my 19 with Bilstein 5100 all around: 2 inch lift in the front/Back on stock front springs, and add a leaf plus a 1/2 spacer in the rear. Along with 33" Wild Peak Skinny 10 ply. No trimming or rubbing with the wheels.
