most of the US cannot afford this, yet will still buy it. Digging deeper and deeper into debt on a depreciating expense. Trucks are no longer affordable. 5 years ago $60k was fully packed diesel prices

    sheesh

    Tundra build site is up.

Albeit it’s only pricing out Sat, SR5, Likited, Platinum, and 1794 trim levels with regular iForce engines.

    Simi is tossing a 25k markup o_O
Im Sure people will still buy it.
I purchased my 21 trd off road 4x4 tacoma from my Thousand Oaks dealership. They had a 5k markup for non thousand oaks residents and a 2.5k markup for T.O. residents.

Full size prices had to correct; with discounts they have been danger close to midsize pricing for years.

Without easy access to credit, we'd be like the rest of the world, where fully loaded full size lifestyle trucks aren't really a thing...

My guess would be in the $65,000 range since that is the price of a 1794 trim

Probably higher since the pro comes standard with the hybrid powertrain, add in add-ons it can easily hit 80k.

If I were to buy another full-size truck it would be the Ford Raptor or Ram TRX. The new Tundra doesn't appeal to me. :crapstorm:

I think TO did that by default even before the "pandemic" or possibly Ventura. My buddy was trying to buy a Raptor a couple years ago and one of those two had an automatic $10k mark up, no chip shortage or anything.

    None needed.
The TRD PRO will sticker at around $66,800-$67,500. The hybrid system will only add about $1800 to the cost of these trucks and the additional suspension upgrades (think of it as the Pro off road upgrade) will add around $2500. Everything else is available on other models (except color schemes).

I think the base price for the 2022 Tundra is good but the options drive the price up fast; though I'm surprised the 6.5' bed only adds $320 to the cost of the truck.
In my view, at $52,000, the Limited should come with a heated steering wheel, Limited power package, JBL sound, Panoramic roof and premium LED headlights. The Off Road option would include panoramic view monitor along with the other features for off road at $4,000.
This would make the price for the TRD limited Off Road About $55,000-$56,000.
My only reluctance in buying this Tundra is the drop in value over 3-5 years. I think Toyota has over priced these trucks; look for huge rebates at some point- I wouldn't be surprised to see $6000+.
The only factor that could reduce the depreciation is inflation but that would be true of any truck.

Just brought a 2019 tundra off road SR5 4x4. It only has 29,000 miles on it. I think I will wait a couple of years before I decide to purchase the new tundra

As an accountant, I can tell you that most guys driving full size trucks should be driving Priuses and Camrys
