For 2022 the locker will be there if it's 4wd. All 4wd's get rear locker.

What's a good stab-in-the-dark hybrid battery replacement cost estimation? Ballpark.

Impossible to say. Don't know the type or amount. Also only one cell out of 100 could be bad. You can google Prius battery cost though. I'm thinking under $5k as a wild guess.

It's a 1.5kWh NiMH. For comparison, the 3rd gen Prius used a 1.3kWh NiMH. People are selling prius packs for about 2k. Double that for OEM batteries.

    Got it, thanks.

I didn't realize that you can replace only one cell. That can't be too bad, as long as by the time one goes bad, the other's aren't weeks behind it.

What happens when a hybrid battery goes? Does the vehicle not work anymore, or does it just drive like crap?

Still goes, just lower fuel efficiency and power.

What's it like driving a truck this big (235" long w/ 5-1/2' bed) compared to a Tacoma Access Cab, for example, which is a full 2 feet shorter? How are parking lots and such?

    Thanks.

I drive a 230” long double cab 2006 tundra with 6’ bed and it drives like a yacht lol. Turning radius sucks. Parking takes some getting used to, but I generally park farther out away from cars anyways. I had a 2011 double cab Tacoma and can say driving the two trucks is nothing alike.

It sucks. I drove a Tacoma for 16 years and kept reading where people say that you quickly get used to driving a full size. I've had mine two years and still hate driving it in town.

Best thing about a fullsize is when someone parks so close to you, you can't get the truck out of the spot.

Wait, not best, I meant worst.

Ugh. My fuse was lit for this truck. Now I feel like I might need a bucket of water.

Its not a big deal. I came from a full size to this Tacoma only to park in the garage. Other than that I never had any issue parking it or finding parking for it. I always parked for away no matter what car I drive so people don't hit it. Yes, they are considerably bigger. Just like going from a car to a Tacoma. Theres a difference but its not a big deal. Especially with all the sensors and parking aids they have now if you hit something you weren't paying attention. I actually miss my full size because its so much bigger inside, but doesn't suite my needs at this time. WIll go back when I get a larger garage

I honestly prefer the smaller Tacoma. I came from a F150 and yes it was roomier and what not, I just didn't need that much truck. Most fullsize trucks are just too big these days. I do like the ergonomics of the dash, door, steering wheel and arm rest in the Tacoma. That makes it much more comfortable. My only gripe is the range of the tilt and telescope of the steering wheel. Wish I had a little more tilt up or if they would have flattened the bottom of the steering wheel. I hit leg of the wheel every time I get it.

The more I look at the new Tundra interior and exterior it grows on me. When I saw the unveil of the new F150 exterior I HATED it. Loved the interior though. Now that I've seen them in person I like them a lot more. I really want to save my final judgement until I see this new Tundra in person.

I came from a platinum f150 and to me the mid size vehicle interior (Tacoma) don't come even close to the trim level I had or what is offered in a full size. They are just nicer inside to me as far as the way they look etc. I just didn't need something that big at the moment and want to be able to fit in the garage with my car. However, I will def go to a full size again with either a bigger garage or a child. Also, the Tacoma interior isn't bad or not nice, its just not on the same level

Do we know what the overall length of the DoubleCab 5.5' bed is?

I think 99% of the discussions center around the CrewMax.

    Thans.

DC does not come with a 5.5 bed.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra will be available in SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 and TRD Pro trims. The Double Cab configuration can be had with either a 6.5- or 8-foot bed, while the larger CrewMax is offered with 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed options.

Ah. So I assume a DC 6.5 and a CM 5.5 are the same overall length...
