I was working 4 dealers, 2 in New Hampshire and 2 in Vermont. Both NH dealers added on $5000 for Tacomas. One VT dealer started at msrp but low balled my trade even though his truck was in transit. The truck I bought was exactly what I wanted including color, had a deposit and sale pending but the customer declined it upon arrival at the dealership. They called me and we made a deal after 4 days of negotiating trade values. This dealer did not have any addendum prices nor did he try to sell me anything other than undercoating which I declined. Very low pressure.

At the end of July, I only saw ADM on Pros in MA and NH. Other trims were 4-6% below MSRP. Might be different now as we are closer to 2024s.

The NH dealer closest to MA I talked with was Irwin Toyota in Laconia. I didn't see anyone up this way discounting Tacomas very much. In fact, some used ones are selling at close to new prices. The inventory is low on new ones and they are even leasing used ones 4 years old and newer,. That surprised me but maybe that is more common than I think!

I purchased mine in May and was happy that I only paid MSRP. No discounts to be had but no ADM. I still had to go almost 3 hours away but it was a pleasant experience compared to some past purchases.

Accurate Gauge of Tacoma Price Info:

    2. $32,615
    3. All Weather Mats, Charge Cables
    4. $560
    5. $33,715

    8. 35,380
    9. 2021 Corolla XSE Hatch
    10. $23K
    11. $23,950 (sold to Carvana and ironically $7k more than owed so actual amount financed its $28k ish)

Try McGee in Epping NH. Once on their email list I started getting offers better than advertised on their website. About 5% below MSRP for a Sport on September 4.
Woburn and Wellesley in MA were both close to 6% below MSRP on TRD OR and Sport the last week of July.

Seems like they are trying to and probably still succeeding sometimes but from the posts here seems like MSRP is very doable.

I just got an email from a dealer that a solar octane pro had been reduced $2500.
I wasn't interested but clicked the link.
The $2500 discount was the ADM and then it was back to MSRP+++

Used Toyota's inventory search within 250 miles, looking for an SR with utility package. Lots of SR's being built right now, not a lot on dealer lots. I'm in MO, and found this one across the river in IL (St Louis market).

    1. 23 SR 4x2 Access Cab
    2. $29,916 (including $1495 delivery)
    3. Utility Pkg, All-Weather Mats / Door Sill protector, Quick Charge Cable ($70 for USB cables?), Door Edge Guard, Predator Tube Step, Soft Tonneau
    4. No dealer adds, all factory
    5. $28,416 (Smart Path price)
    6. $1,000 dealer markdown
    7. $500 military rebate
    8. $28,716 ($300 doc fee). Tax is paid at DMV when registering.
    9. 2019 Nissan Frontier SV 4wd
    10. $19,000
    11. $22,000
    12. 29 SEP 23
    13. IL

Strangely, it has the intermittent stalk (which will save me the out of pocket cost to add). I don't know what the person who spec'd the truck was thinking. It's a white SR with utility package. Why are you adding side steps and a tonneau?

Seemed to be the best priced one within about 100 miles at the time. It was used as a rental in its previous life, which is why it has so many miles in just a year and a half I think.

I'd been looking for this model for over 2 years but never saw one. I saw this one May 2023 and figured this was the one. Truck was not yet built but scheduled for July delivery. I told the dealer I believed invoice price was around $35,000 and offered a price a bit above this. Dealer said, "It doesn't work like that anymore, especially for a manual transmission." I left without signing a deal but quickly realized I needed to lock this down or someone else would. I secured a $500 discount off MSRP, put down a $500 deposit, and drove away with it on July 3. Good luck negotiating down these days in SoCal, dealers will laugh and wait for the next willing buyer.

This looks about like a truck that I would buy. Seems like you got a good deal - I'm surprised at the $1000 markdown.

Re: the steps, I've been watching the allocation lists and it looks they're adding steps to almost everything. I agree with you, they're not needed, esp on a 4x2.

I'm holding out to see what kind of mpg the 2024s will have. I'm driving a gen2 and get 27-28 mpg highway - can't handle 23 mpg on the 2023s.
