Honestly, I hope they do, and I hope they take the entire vehicle class with them. Maybe then the midsized truck will go back to its roots as a working class runabout instead of an LL Bean instant outdoor cred purchase for pudgy middle managers.

That lineman is under sized and only 4.9 40's, why is he on this team..."uh he is the field goal kicker?" Not perfect, except if it is what you need.

I bought my truck because I thought it looked cute, with no consideration for how it will hold up or what I'm using it for. I like my trucks how I like my women; easy, hot, and sweet. Super bonus points if they smell like fresh hot dogs.

    no regarts.

    A few.
You mean the truck that so many on this forum and on the fb groups have ridiculed for the poor powertrain performance, and now that the 24 Tacoma comes out with the 2.4 turbo 4 cylinder, those same people talk like the 3td gen 3.5 V6 is the grrestest thing since sliced bread.

I was never a GM fan but I my experience with the Colorado wasn't the same. I put 120K on a new '16 V6 Colorado 4x4 work truck, it never needed to go back to the dealer for anything the entire 120K, no recalls, repairs nothing. The tacoma was in about 5 times for recalls during that same mileage range. Jiffy Lube did all the sched maint, I had to wait 85K before the original tires wore enough so the fleet would replace them @ 3/32". The Colorado would run circles around my 4L tacoma and and consistently got better mileage to the tune of 4mpg better everywhere. Around here 80mph is the norm on the highway, it got 22mpg during those times despite having a workmans topper and about 450# of equipment in it the time, My 4L is lucky to get 17 doing the same thing. I'd sometimes had to drive up to the top of a Mtn to service a transmitting site and the Colorado churned up the rock strewn mtn trials very well. I didn't want to give that truck back.

The Colorado really surprised me, esp compared to my Tacoma and the full sized Dodge it replaced. It was a better truck then the tacoma for those 120K mi that it was in my hands, rode better, got better mileage and required less dealer interventions. Probably isn't popular around here but if I was looking right now, I'd be hard pressed to choose a new tacoma over a V6 Colorado.

I have a feeling with this absurd 4th gen pricing that talking about the better alternatives is about to become much more popular around here.....

I see the Z 71 offers a package that has heated and vented seats now. For folks out here in the desert that is super tempting.

I think the 3rd Gen Tacoma has to have the record for most units of a product sold for the amount of online dissatisfaction.

    it sucks to drive
    It’s cramped inside
It’s not as reliable or durable as historical Toyotas

the outcome when people vote with their money ?

    Quarter million per year sold.
More than any year 4runner, any year mid size trucks often even combined. Nothing comparable even comes close.

oh and people hold on to them. One of the best if not best resale values.

    it’s a head scratcher.

For that reason alone I am satisfied with my purchase. That said it’s an old platform that does have its shortcomings… the OTT tune vastly improved drive ability for me but why didn’t it drive like that to start with?!
Next year it’ll be a 4th gen or a Tundra for me. Between 2nd & 3rd gens I’ve had 6 Tacos, time for something new!

How can you say its not as reliable? I dont recall a TacomaWorld forum in 1984 that allowed people to bitch about their trucks.:confused::confused:

And cramped? Its the same size as a first gen Tundra.
