Has anyone had success finding quality H11 LED bulbs for the 2023?
I suspect that the bulbs are the same as the 2022, but no suppliers are showing anything for the 2023 as of yet.

i went HIDs. more wires than an LED bulb but you don't have to gamble buying some LEDs to find out they are not "skinny" enough or they don't throw that far.

There may be quality bulbs out there, that doesn't mean they will work for your headlamp assembly.

If you are interested in understanding why LED bulbs make your light output worse in your factory headlamps, here is a really good read.

I went with Diode Dynamics SL1s which for me was a huge improvement over the stock Halogen and the GE Mega 130s. LEDs like these have come a long way, no issues blinding on coming traffic, the throw is great, see better and farther. Been great for me for the last 4 years. These aren't the junk LEDs off Amazon.

Thanks...I will check into those... personally I have had great success with LEDs in my Civic, Accord, Colorado... very good throw, brighter white light, for me it's a safety issue as I don't see well when driving after sundown.

i got the kit from Amazon i got some Innovited 35W HID kit i got mine in 6000k but to match the normal DRL it should be 5000k. i got 2 kits 1 for the low beam and 1 for the fogs.
they are fairly simple to install:

    • remove stock bulb
    • replace with HID bulb
    • connect stock light connector to input on the ballast
    • connect ballast to HID bulb
    • either find a place to stick the ballast o better yet use the supplied bracket to mount it in one of the fender holes.
no flicker, no lights on the dash for missing bulb. they just work as normal. for hi-beam i would suggest a H9 led since they come on instantly, instead of the awesome burn in the HID do when they start from cold.

After reading the big headlight thread on here, I went with these from Amazon as crashnburn80 found they perform within a hair of the best performing LED's that he tried in our projectors but cost 1/3 the price. I've used Hikari in several cars and even my snowmobile with no failures. One set is almost 5 years old at this point.

Thanks... the headlamp issue can be a slippery slope, It doesn't seem like an aftermarket benefit for outdated tech like HID, and LEDs technically need to max out at 3000k per DOT regulations for "on-road use. I doubt we will ever see enforcement for the 3000k ceiling, but 6000k does seems a little bright for oncoming drivers.
I don't really want to blind anyone, even though I have been "laserbeamed" many times. I just can't deal with the yellow dim lamps. I will give these a look.
    Lumens?
    Watts?
    K...?
    DOT?
    who knows....

I don't think DOT restricts color temp to 3000k...the OEM LEDs are 6000k if I recall correctly

That would be nice...I will check the 6000k.... you know the State Highway Patrols in Ohio are very courteous, but it can be such a bore talking with those chaps...
    If you get my meaning...

The "K" or Kelvin Rating of the bulb is a measure of color, not brightness. Just wanted to make sure you understood what the term means.

It's amazing the amount of emotions the topic of light bulbs can stir up...

Agreed, on both sides. Those that think LED is always an improvement and those that think it's always a downgrade and always blinding the crap out of others.

Yea... I guess I'll delay my next post for later, I was going to see if anyone had installed a Phased Plasma rifle in the 40-watt range on their Tacoma yet...
