My DRL are slightly bluer than the Morimoto LEDs, which are supposed to be 5500K

i did the change and when i went to adjust the headlamp they have the same cutoff point, and when i'm driving the cut off does not go pass the trunk on the cars on the road.

even here in the 3rd-gen-hid-vs-led-vs-halogen-h11-projector-headlight you can see halogen on the left and HID on the right. there is a bright spot in the middle of the HID but not something that will glare the oncoming or the in front driver. you have to be more worried if a guy put a lift/level kit and did not readjust for the new height.

when i wanted and upgrade i did read the thread and it gave 4 options. High power H11 Halogen, H9 mod with high power halogen bulb, HIDs, or really expensive thin LED. and but there is no warning that by changing the bulb somehow the cut off will change

My factory bulbs are fine, just city driving. I have way more important things to deal with than aftermarket headlamp bulbs.

For all the complaining about aftermarket LEDs, I can honestly say the worst oncoming lights for me are Ford OEM LEDs.

I thought the same thing but in the headlight thread crashnburn80 mentiones the uplight that is built into the projectors is above the cutoff and is much brighter with the HID's because of the brighter light source and that's what is blinding others. He mentioned that it's not a problem with well designed LED's because the light source is at "3 and 9 o'clock" rather than 360 degrees so therefore you actually get very little up light which can cause its own issues such as having difficulty seeing a road sign that's directly over the road.

Maybe just avoid burying your head in the sand when someone knowledgeable speaks up. As much as I love a good anecdotal data point that doesn't make a person's opinion any more true when it flies in the face of the testing results.

Not that you did this personally, just a general statement on this thread and its vitriol

    Or oil change intervals!

This is very active forum with great information. Once you figure out how to sift through a bunch of noise and BS posts you'll figure out who the helpful folks are.

The only LED he recommended for low beams is hikari ultra. They have great cutoff, don’t blind anyone and definitely an improvement over stock.

    Which vehicle?

I seldom drive in the dark anymore. I can't give an accurate assessment. 14th gen F150 with light bending technology don't seem bad. The lower grade reflector LED are probably the worst offenders as the reflector is stationary with no vertical adjustment.

The only other Ford vehicle I can think of with Reflector LEDs is the Maverick, I haven't noticed what effect the lights have in traffic.

Ranger with LED sometimes had some glare with their projectors.

I think all the other trucks have Projector LEDs which shouldn't be to bed.

All 2016+ F-150 and 2017+ Super duty with factory LEDs. The bottom LED is made for a wider pattern, while the top LED is more of a spot. It's always the lower LEDs that are the offenders. Now, it's entirely possible that all of these are leveled trucks that were not adjusted.

@VaToy he is literally ignoring the fact that the resident expert he's referencing has said in that big thread that decently built drop in LED's have too little up light so they actually give less glare. LOL.

I have only glanced at it a few times. I went off others recommending the DD SL1s, videos, the company's reputation and made the decision to try them out and see for myself. Some just need to move on and let it be.
