I just traded in my 2022 Tacoma for a 2024. I had my radar detector tapped into the back of the mirror in the '22 and there were a bunch of diagrams about the plug. I cant seem to find any about the '24.

I see 3 plugs under the cover for the mirror. Is anyone tapping one of them for switched power?tap.jpg

I copied this from a member on the Tacoma4g forum for when I'm ready to install my radar detector:

"With the cover off, you'll see the mirror plug on the left (drivers) side. It has roughly 6-7 leads. There are 3 larger wires in this plug. Red, Blue, and Brown. 12V switched power is the blue lead, and ground is the brown lead. Connected the mirror tap harness to these from the backside, and buttoned it back up."

That was me. And this is correct. You need to remove the mirror cover. First, take out the center piece (it just pops out with a trim removal tool). Then slide the cover down toward the dashboard while keeping it pressed against the glass. There's a couple of clips that will come undone. Then, you'll see the mirror plug on the left. Follow the directions above to place the mirror tap. Good luck.

The wiring's a bit different on the '24. I used the middle plug for switched power, worked perfectly.

I just plugged it into the back of my mirror in my 2022. There was plenty of documentation online, but 2024 info is scarce and my mirror doesnt have a plug in the back.

On a 2024 you have to remove the "cover" to access the wiring.

@Iqudayo Most new dash cams will have the adapter to go from A to C. Also the Dongar 5pin and 10pin are out of stock on their site and Amazon. @dongar has been silent on the forums as well so not sure what is going on.

Yeah they are all out of stock and in the other forum several people have been tagging him or DMing him to ask questions and he is dark.

Website says they're available starting September 9. Probably waiting on a giant package from overseas.

You can pre-order, and then if it doesn't arrive within 21 days, dispute with the credit card.
