This one is a done deal, all Taco have it. Fuse Block with multiple terminals.

If Taco has the J7 OEM Trailer Brake Control ECU, Redarc can tap these wires.

Where behind the dash is the J7? Right side, left side?
Would I have to run wires to through the cab to the battery too?

No wires to run, if you have the J7, those are the wires required to tap into.

Right. Yeah. Makes sense if I have the J7. Not sure how to tap into that ECU

You'd tap into the wires, not to a ghost ECU.:rofl::rofl:

Did you ever find a resolution? I am so frustrated Toyota would do this and agree can’t believe I have to old school hard wire my Tekonsha controller. I hope they get enough complaints that they offer the option to install.

Did you ever get this resolved? I’m trying to verify that this works and there are no issues with other sensors etc on the truck. It would not be fun to buy a 2024 SR5 without the factory controller and find out later I can’t get the red arc to install properly. The packages that include the factory controller are expensive and have a bunch of other stuff I don’t necessarily need.

I went to my local trailer place. They said they can find the correct wiring harness to hook up my Tekonsha Prodigy P3. From what I understand it’s not exactly a simple plug in situation but they also don’t have to run wiring from the 7way to the battery, etc.
Hope this makes sense. There seems to be a lack of information out there and Toyota is of no help. Again, why install a 7way and tow package with no way to hook up brakes?‍♀️

Because you can still tow trailers that don't have brakes, I suppose?

No. It’s only 1000lbs. But between dogs, 2 adults and our gear, we’re at about $1800. Still weigh below tow capacity of 6640lbs. If we for a bigger camper or went to mountainous states I’d want extra protection.
