As the title reads I am attempting to, as close as possible, build an exact replica of my truck 1/9 scale. Now that the weather is changing and soon it will rain or snow everyday for the next 4-5 months it's time to get things ready. This is just the start and will keep updating.

3D Printed Body kit by MFab.

Chassis is MFAB Misc01 stretched to 410mm for DCLB. They are working on IFS front suspension.

Had prototype Prinsu roof rack and Voodoo bed racks made to match what's on truck. Right now just held together with tape.

Also had extra mirrors and headlights made to try and customize. Lol

They are a good kit but take a lot more work than a model. Will all be worth it.

I'm confused. So you made this stuff or bought it ALL from MFAB?

The 3d printed body kit is made by MFAB in pieces. My chassis kit came from GCM tiny trucks. You have to assemble. Mfab has some contacts who will build one for you but it takes months and expensive.

Since this is my 1st time building these I decided to start with the bed since it appears easier. Bed structure consists of 19 pieces plus 4 tail light parts. The bed sides are 2 pieces. This is to allow easier printing of the holes for wiring lights. Getting the parts lined up to avoid a seam is crucial. Then fill any gaps, remove and/or fill printer lines on the outside body panels. I'm not doing the inside of the bed or underside. It will be done with bedliner later. Here are the 2 pieces joined. You can tell since they are different colors.

ABS? If so, you can do an acetone bath:

I have done it similarly with a paint can. You use magnets to hold a paper towel to the inside of the can and swish some acetone on to it. Just enough to wet the towel. Place the part on the lid and put the can over top. You don't want anything touching the parts. Comes out smooth.

I'll have to check with maker. Since these are thin hollow parts that need a lot of sharp edges not sure it would work well. But love the idea.

You can hang them on a wire. Also, you can do it a couple times or for a short time. Lots of possibilities.

ABS will soften in the bath / vaper wash but will harden back up like new.

Asking the maker is a good idea. Other than a go / no-go, they may have good recommendations.

An ACLB would be really cool.
