I had a neighbor growing up that hunted deer and hogs and all he used was a .243, and he killed at least 1 deer every season

I shot my last caribou with a 250 Savage and it worked fine. It’s almost balistically identical to a 243 Win shooting 100gr bullets.

Ahhhh........ Love my .243's. Light recoil, accurate. Plenty of thump out to 300 yards. One is a Browning A-Bolt Hunter I bought in '89, the other is a T/C Venture I bought in 2014. Both guns are bad medicine on PA whitetails. Federal Premium 100 soft points. Tracking distance in yards is measured in single digits. Both guns are shooters as well.

This is a 100 yard group from the T/C with the above mentioned ammo. Group one is cold bore, Group two is a lil tighter. :)

This is the last buck I shot with the Browning. Little over 100 yards, you can see where the bullet hit his neck.

Here is a pic from many years ago. This is my Grandfathers Sako L579 Forester. I've used it on deer, antelope, and coyotes. My Grandfather used it on bighorn sheep.

1991 Ruger M77 Mk II. What do I hunt? Oh, ...paper, water jugs, pumpkins, tannerite. If the local coyotes get any more bold, they'll be next on the list.

A .243 is on my wish list. I will probably try to find a used left handed BAR. I like the idea of this flat shooting calibre for deer.

Just shoot them in the head. Love hunting birds with a 22lr and never picking shot out of the meat or my teeth.

Rifles legal in Wv lol, usually what I take in the fall season when I’m not toting the 22 mag

Neck shot if you’ve got a good rest, just above hip for a bigger target

Less meat damage than my 12 gauge usually, just gotta pick the shots :)

22 hornet is the perfect turkey gun, where legal.

If I had something between my 243 and my 22 mag I’d be using that instead lol

Seriously considering a ruger american compact in 223 for fall turkeys

Shot my first buck with a 243. Still carry a 243 some days deer hunting. Never got into predator hunting but I would use it for that as well.

I think my son was 6 or 7 in that pic. He didn't pull the trigger, but he certainly helped out.My kids where brought up hunting. My son likes to hunt because I like to. My daughter likes to hunt because she loves it.

I really looked forward to going out with my step dad hunting when I was a kid, it really helped us bond.
