Does anyone have these on a gen 3 with sparies, I'm thinking of putting my km2s on a set. Also where's a good place to buy them? And are they all the same? Tacoma, fj, 4runner etc.

Forgot to mention I got ext. length coilovers so I need to run aftermarket UCA's

Gonna bump my own question here. I need to order UCA's pretty quick so I can get my lift and tires on. Does anyone run Total Chaos with 255s on stock rims? JBA recommends 4.5" BS rims to clear the arms with 255s or 1.25" wheel spacers if I want to stick with stock rims. Does anyone have any pics of 255s on 4.5" back spacing rims ?

    Thanks

I don't always drive on tires but when I do I drive on skinny tires. Stay skinny my friends.

Pulling the spacer out might help you. I'm not super familiar with where the cab mount is but spacers make fender rub worse. They only help clear UCA's and the frame.

And brakes from the back of the wheel. My brake fitment is tight in the front with the spacer in, wheel won't go on without it.IMG_20180128_121623.jpg I'm well versed on the subject, and it doesn't rub anymore after CMC 20180123_152840_01.jpg 20180123_152831_01.jpg

I've got the same issis with the calipers. A lot of steelies need a small spacer.

Yepp! I found that out the hard way... I was hoping that by ordering my wheels in a lower (more negative) offset would help but it has little to do with the offset of the wheel and more to do with the fact that alloy rims have a large built in hub for strength that sticks out from the rotor, whereas steelies are virtually flat and relatively very thin at their hubs. Either way, im happy now with the spacers in and ARP studs to support them!

    Thoughts??

Would I have any issues with rubbing while I’m without a lift? Or should I stick with 265/75/16?

I had zero issues with my Cooper ST Maxx’s even at full lock. Granted I was only on pavement during that time.

Is a lift required to fit 255/85/16? Debating stalling my lift for a little bit but still need new tires. I will go up to 265/75/16 (260/65 right now) if I must, but wanted to know if I could fit 255/85 without any kind of lift?

Hows everyone trimming their fender flares on 3rd gens? 255's will rub there. my KM2's are reasonably clear of the cab mount and I'm sure they will rub the cab mount stuffed. Was going to do mine this week, would be cool to see some pics.

Hey gent's, good thread.. I'll chime in!
    I really love my 255 85 16 BFG s.
But set them up when I was down in AZ, now I live in northwest Montana and love it here!
But they aren't the best in deep snow even with an arb and 4:88's
Dunno if I should switch or just run em!

    Cheers!

Things. Stuff. Lots of bad decisions.
    Mostly Zip-Ties
I ran my 255’s without a lift for a few months while my leafs were on backorder. They’ll rub under compression while turning but it’s really not that bad. They didn’t eat any flares or anything, just grumbled on the inner fender. It will turn heads, not in a good way.

My BFG’s have been wearing funny. Even with good alignments for the past year and a half or so, they’re wearing funny and I’ve had to replace one because the sidewall began to fail. It bulged out in a perfect square shape a little bigger than a softball. When I pulled the tire off the bulge was soft and squishy to the touch. BFG basically ignored me when I contacted them so I ended up paying for a new tire and had to throw out a tire that wasn’t even 90 days old yet. It still had the little nubs! They said I overloaded it. I told them if I overloaded their 10 ply tire in my Tacoma they needed to take notes on strength and durability from Toyota. I hear nothing but good things about those Coopers and you cannot beat that price. I’ll be buying those tires next and I’m really looking forward to it.

Hey guys and gals! Needing a new set up soon and I just can not make up my mind! Currently running Ko2s 265/75 but I finally decided I want to go with 33s but now it’s come down to 255 or 285. I have a two inch lift on my 02 ext cab manual and wondering what kind of wheel specs I would need to run the 255/85. Hoping the pro comp 7069 16x8 4.0” back spacing and -12mm offset will work. Also if any one with a similar truck/ suspension set up runs these and how they like them? And lastly what are your favorite 255s? Thanks for any help!DCC29390-C8D0-4763-B031-8F9AD89445FC.jpg
