Well, after much deliberation, I have decided that the lift and tires are the first major mod for my truck. I would like to run 255/85/16's, but I am a little unclear on whether or not a spare will fit under the bed. I have read a few threads saying 33" will fit once the tabs are modified. This tire size is just barely above 33, and I just wasn't sure how tight of a fit it was. I don't think I have to worry about the exhaust heat since the tire is fairly narrow, but please correct me if I am wrong. Also, if anyone has a pic of the tabs to cut/modify, that would be great. Thanks.

Comes veeeeeeeeeery close underneath. I just bought a 255 spare two weeks ago, bought a MetalMiller bed-carrier, and now cinch the tire down onto my bed when space isn't needed. otherwise, I use the MetalMiller carrier.

^^ Does it fit well, or is it snug? I had marks on my OEM spare hanging under there previously.

My MetalMiller looks like this now:

I did this for my 255's... but plan on fabing up a bed mount for the spare at some point.

I run a 255/85/16 under the bed. Trim tabs for a nice tight fit.:D

Just an FYI, I already took care of the tabs. I live in an apartment, and have an embarrassing tool collection. Needles to say, no power saw that is capable of metal cutting. I stopped by the independent Land Rover shop across the street from me and asked if they could take care of it really quick. After the gentlemen looked at the tabs, he said, "try this (handed me a sledge), you can even use my mat to lay on". I like him. After about 2 minutes, both tabs were hammered into place, and slid evenly into the grooves on the cross member without protruding at all. Just thought I would share an easy alternate if someone doesn't have the tools/doesn't want to cut away with a hack saw.

It's mounted low enough that my vision is fine. Demello Offroad built it.
