These will be fine in your winters, its cold that effects tire compound especially in the real cold. I ran my Wildpeaks (they have the snow flake) all winter and was pleasantly surprised with there performance in -50C.

They are so bad in the winter that several big tire dealers wont even sell them or bring them in during winter months. I tried to get them back in January and had two big tire shops tell me they wouldnt sell them to me.

Also have a co-worker who had to remove his once the snow landed. Said they were downright dangerous.

They are like snow slicks for the most part.

No they wont. Try ordering them from Kal Tire or Tire Warehouse in the winter. They wont sell them (Ridge Grapplers). That was their rule as of winter 2018. :hattip:

@VonStueckle, do you notice any slight rumbling/wobbly feeling in the front wheels when at low speeds (5mph or so) or when accelerating? Reason I ask, is I too had the ridge grapplers installed this weekend on TRD Pro SEMA wheels and i'm thinking the balancing is off on mine. I will take it back to the shop for re-balancing, but just wondering if you noticed the same feeling.

Yes, I'm running 1.25 inch spacers. I didn't even try them without spacers as I had them on with the stock tires. No rubbing on control arms with spacers, not sure without.

F that, my 285/70r17SLs of these weigh less. I ran 265/75r16 E KO2s on my 17, think handled like a dump truck, weigh overkill for our trucks.

I ran them in the winter no problem, no worse than the KO2s in the winter that everyone raves about.

I don't think tire shops are going to turn down a sale, nor do they care about end use..... any tire can be dangerous or a slick if the driver doesn't know how to drive to conditions....

Mine are coming off today since they are "downright dangerous" based on your post.

"snow slicks? What are those? Sounds scary as hell whatever they are!

Thank you so much Roddy buddy!

I'm also never going to drive my Tacoma during the rain since it only takes a puddle to hydrolock the engine. Will pull over or call the tow truck if it starts raining.

And I will stick to dry pavement driving only since any off roading will void the warranty.

Thank you TW for saving me $$ and possibly my life!

I haven’t noticed anything during slow speeds at all, I know they did add some weights for balancing. I’m not sure if it was road forced balance or not but it seems to have worked well. You may want to try road forces balancing if you didn’t already, seems several guys on here have had better luck with that.

Thanks for the response @VonStueckle. I did notice weights on my rims for balancing. I'll take it back to them and see what they can do and possibly try the road force balance
