I just went from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16 with no lift and no rubbing. They are considerably bigger than the 70's. From what I’ve read, that’s about as big as one can go with no lift. With a lift they would probably be a nice tire and you should be able to go bigger. I’m getting about an inch of extra ground clearance with the 75's.

I think I am just going to end up going with the 265/75/16's as the price makes sense to do so...

With that said, I was thinking about buying some wheel spacers to give it a more aggressive stance. However, I know very little about wheel spacers and what that entails...

    Any suggestions?

wheel spacers are pretty straight forward, you take off your wheel and bolt on the wheel spacer and torque it down with loctite, then mount your wheels on top of them and torque them down like normal.

A quick youtube search will pull up all kinds of videos on "how to". the more popular one around here the Spidertrax wheel spacers.

Thanks. Is there a certain and/or popular spacing with the tacomas?

I see that Spidertraxs seem to be very popular...Are they a much higher quality over others? Seems like they are around $100 for a pair.

I found these on ebay, and they are only $100 for all 4....are these of a lesser quality than the spidertraxs?

Some cheap spacers use inadequate hardware, may not be hub centric, etc. Spidertrax have a good reputation so it removes the doubt of what you are going to get.

    on my 2016, I had 255 85 16 Maxxis Bighorns. I liked them better than my General Grabber AT2 in 265 75 16, that I had on my 05.

I am currently waiting on my 255 85 16 cooper st maxx to arrive so I can put them on my 2018.

I bought a set of 265/75/16 C load Dura-Tracs. They had a terrible hop to them at 40-50 & 65-75. Discount Tire Road-Balanced them 3 times than finally said one of the tires is bad. They ordered me a new tire (drove around with a hopping truck for a week). When it arrived it was a 265/75/18. So, than they over nighted two 265/75/16 C's. When they showed up the plan was to replace both of my rears. Ends up one of the new ones was worse than what I had on the truck. They installed the new tire and picked the best out of the two others. Called them while driving down the highway with my voice vibrating at speeds 50-70. Just awful. Went back, pulled the C loads and installed E Load 265/75/16. Still had a bad out of round hop. Not a side to side balance issue but a Hop. They thought it might be my 6000 mile 2017 truck. I installed my Snow Tires and let them see how it's not the truck. Next thing we did was install 265/75/16 KO2's. Hop is gone. Steering wheel wiggles left to right between 40-45 MPH at any psi below 36. I need to run above 36 to not have a wobble but than the ride is harsh. I don't like the way the E-load rides at 38-40 PSI. Maybe my Fox Suspension is too soft. Don't know. Size wise they look fine but the 265/75/16 sticks in the wheel well too far for my liking. I added Spider Trax Spacers. Looks great but rubs pulling in and out of my driveway (and other places). Both the Dura-Trac and KO2 rub w/ spacers but not with out the spacers. Tacoma Snow 2018.jpg Tacoma Snow 2018 Feb.jpg Tore up my inner fender liner a bit getting myself wedged outta snow last weekend. And yes, I trimmed as much as I could with out making it look like crap. Not sure about MPG's but ETC is always on because either the E-load weight or size has made a difference. Could only imagine how much worse it would be with a 285 without re-gearing, (and lifting, but I'm not lifting it.)

I have had oval shaped Goodyear tires before. Not fun. Could your wheels be an issue? Are they the new ones that were on the truck?

The wheels are stock. Little over 6,000 miles on them. No more hopping with the BFG KO2's. I have had 3 sets of the Dura-Tracs on other vehicles and really like them thats why I wanted them on the new truck. Glad that Discount tire was willing to keep working at it until the truck drove normal again. (not a fan of the KO2 though)

That sounds great. We tried multiple C- Loads and E-loads and couldn't get it right. Finally went to a tire I'm not a fan of and every things good. I sure would rather have the Dura-Tracs but what can ye do.

Got a friend on fb group who just put 255/85/16 on his stock truck. Hes done some testing and no rubbing as of yet! He said he has 1.5" more ground clearance. Also, here is a comparison between his previous 265/75/16 and the 255/85/16

He must be driving on some very level ground. Those will rub no doubt.

    Its actually very common.

Have you ever put these on a truck?

I have on 2 trucks, and havent had any rub at full lock.

    Its all aboutthe alignment
