Ok so I wish I could get a straight answer on this - 50% of posts on this site say slight rub if you go up one size to 265/75/16 on a stock 3rd gen TRD off road and 50% of posts say they don't rub at all.

Which is it? I don't care if I need to remove factory mud guards cuz I don't love how they look anyways.

I don't want any possibility of rubbing at all and I'm not changing stock height until new shocks are needed. I don't off road often but certainly do when the opportunity presents itself

just removed the mud guard you should be cool. I run 265/75/16 KO2 stock height, I went out last weekend no rub. But idk if I was " really" pushing it, got my tires tucking real goood tho.

Just put on that size duratrac c rateds. Did a lot of rough back trail mountain driving in Montana last weekend. Not sure I ever went full
Compression/full lock at same time but never had any rub at all.

You’ll get a mix of responses due to the tolerance in the components, meaning that the wheel hub may sit very differently in the well between vehicles, and the difference in tire sizes. Just because a tire is labeled 265/75/16 doesn’t mean it’s exactly those dimensions.

If in doubt, test fit before buying.
