IDK. Just wanted a change. It sucked. Next time I want over 3* :D

How many miles are people getting out of the Hancook's? They look aggressive.

Oh and screw E rated. I take a pounding in my C rated when only aired down to 30 on the trail.

    285's are too wide

Will you hurry up and get some 275s on that thing so I can make up my mind on the 265/275/285 debate!

Did the lower caster affect how the front suspension reacted to bumps or just how it steers ?

A 255 75 17 is essentially the same diameter as a 275 70 17. I picked one up as a spare for 20 bucks. It fits with room to "spare" in the stock location.

275s no question. Only drawback is that it is an uncommon size, however the ones that do scome in that size are awesome anyways.

On my 05 I had 275/65/18s (32x11) on aftermarket 18x9 rims with 2.5 lift, no wheel spacers. Didn't have mudflaps but looked like I could have without problem. Frame wasn't trimmed but had to trim the little box part of the front of the wheel well liner that hangs down. Also had LR UCAs. Had no issues with tire rubbing anywhere after trimming the front of the wheel well liner and that was only enough rubbage to annoy not destroy. Not seeing where the tire size on factory rims being discussed here would be an issue.

I ran 275/70/17 bfg a/t on my stock sport wheels back when i had a access cab. i had minor minor rubbing on the uca at full turn. so little you couldn't even feel the lug hitting. i ended up adding wheel spacers just for a wider stance. i was running 3 inches of lift on the front. it was a nice tire and still had plenty of power. see my pics for details.

Yup, over here I'm running Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar 275/75R/17s on stock TRD Sport rims with a 3 inch lift in front, 1.5 inch in the rear. No trimming. Still have my mud flaps. Just a little bit of rubbing at full lock on the large lugs, but not enough to hamper it.

Next, I'll probably get wheel spacers just to widen the stance a bit, but that may increase rubbing sometimes.

Steering is different in the sand and seems less responsive which makes perfect sense with the tires being farther back towards the cab. Not much difference on road has been felt. The degree of change is minimal. With your UCA's you should have no issues correcting any rub.

As always I'm sure you know to take some things people say in here with a grain of salt. Last time I heard a member say to another member "I have this set up, I wheel, and I never had any issues" turns out the guy never saw a dirt road, the set up was horrible, and the member who listened got screwed royally. 285s are too wide. then you have to get into wheel spacers or aftermarket rims and remove the mud flaps. What a pain.

When you added the spacers , did you still clear the flaps ?

What would happen if you used those 1/4" or 1/2" spacers and extended lug nuts? Would that allow you to still clear the mud flaps and also give you enough clearance on the UCA at full lock? I know those spacers aren't great but might work for you :notsure:

Moving the wheel out usually makes the tire contact the flaps when turning .

Depends, before getting the 275/65/18s I had 285/60/18s (31.5 x 11.5) on 18x9 without trimming the front wheel well and had no rubbing on frame or UCAs and had no spacers but it did look like mud flaps would have been a no go with those. That was with 2.5 lift too....and yeah, bit wide for oem rims.

I knew Spidertrax caused the problem but they move then out 1.5". I wasn't sure if only moving them out a small amount like 1/4" would still cause rubbing.
